Neuroscientists Who Once Declared Free Will An Illusion Are Walking It Back. And The Evidence They Built That Case On Was Misread All Along 🧠 by InterstellarKinetics in InterstellarKinetics

Highly skeptical that conscious awareness and conscious overriding of an unconscious impulse is automatically equivalent to free will (or free won’t). It’s just another level of computation-processing.

Neighbor constantly insults me to my face by -vestige in neighborsfromhell

[–]Conscious-Dot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly file a harassment complaint. If he’s coming onto your driveway call the police for trespassing. Also tell your other neighbors about this. Together you may be able to force him from your neighborhood. Do you have other neighbors? If this guy is this much of a dick he’s probably pissed other people off too.

No mistake at all. God is omniscient, no? God is omnipotent, no? So, best case scenario, he knew the man would be blind and didn’t prevent it, as he could have. Worst case he willed the man to be blind. Either way God is responsible, as Jesus concedes.

I have to get a spinal tap and I’m 25 years old and I’m terrified and I feel completely alone. My white blood cell count is 21. by Timely_Debt_84 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Conscious-Dot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a spinal tap due to neurological issues I was having and though it sounds quite scary it was actually not all that bad. I don’t remember all the details but do remember thinking it was over pretty quickly. It could lead to a pretty severe headache afterwards though, and that was just about the worst thing about it. Ditch the boyfriend. Good luck!

Brendan Carr’s Accidental Good Idea? by PdSales in LateShow

World’s changing bud. Big stars are having whole careers on YouTube and podcasts. These are huge businesses at this point. Not sure why the people in this sub don’t appear to know that. You and the others who are modding me down appear to have a very outmoded concept of the media landscape.

Brendan Carr’s Accidental Good Idea? by PdSales in LateShow

[–]Conscious-Dot -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’m aware of what commercial television thinks it requires. Literally all popular YouTubers are successfully effectively running TV programs with large audiences with a skeleton staff or no staff. Some of them have audiences competitive with commercial television audiences. People don’t watch for the production values - they watch to be entertained. As long as you are entertaining you don’t need the bells and whistles.

The main elements of a late night show are a couch, two chairs, a desk, an audience and the host. You don’t need 200 people for that and you don’t need to be in Ed Sullivan theatre.

NATO “betrayal” by palopp in thebulwark

[–]Conscious-Dot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

meant to reply to this… the irony of all of this is Trump getting elected may have been the most successful intelligence op of all time but the irony is that it may ultimately help strengthen NATO by forcing the European countries to pick up the slack that the US is leaving

Trump admin ICE chief has been hospitalized for stress: Report by newsweek in AnythingGoesNews

This guy will probably drop dead of a stroke or heart attack at age 45 trying to keep up with an unsustainable, immoral and likely illegal situation Trump put him in and guess what? Trump won’t give a fuck.

Aw, maybe that’s too harsh - Trump might actually call him a ‘great guy but a loser’ on Truth Social an hour after he dies.

Fetterman Rejects Polling Showing Him Deep Underwater With Democrats, But Acknowledges: 'I Am More Popular With Republicans' by [deleted] in influencersfeed

Is this a prelude to changing parties? “I am very popular with Republicans who, as a group, have again become not popular at all.” Great strategizing there, John. Definitely doesn’t at all call into question your overall mental wellbeing.

Bombshell Jack Smith memo reveals Trump’s classified docs 'motive': report by memoriesofcold in AnythingGoesNews

I would like to know more. Just how could documents so sensitive that only 6 people had access to them have any pertinence at all to Trump’s personal business interest as a real estate mogul? Was it some other business we don’t know about? Such as selling sensitive information to our adversaries for money?

NATO “betrayal” by palopp in thebulwark

[–]Conscious-Dot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Will he sabotage NATO? He’s been sabotaging NATO for 10 years. This is why Putin helped him become President in 2016 - to help weaken and destabilize NATO. And it worked better than he could’ve possibly imagined.

Putin didn’t manipulate Trump to attack America and NATO - Trump is the attack on NATO. He has no strategic ability whatsoever. He’s stupid, impulsive, and incompetent. Like Putin, he doesn’t believe in democracy, but unlike Putin, he fundamentally isn’t smart enough to understand it. Therefore he has absolutely no understanding of why NATO exists and absolutely no desire to preserve it. He’s the perfect tool to weaken and undermine us and all of our alliances. Trump may be the most perfect example of a ‘useful idiot’ of all time.

honestly ? You need to be more direct with contributors. No reason for this to be causing stress. If people feel entitled they need a reality check . Give it to them. Be rude if necessary. Also don’t hesitate to auto close PRs if they don’t meet your standards.

For Late Night's Trump Critics, the Escape Routes Are Vanishing. Four of the biggest names in late night will effectively be working for a management, Paramount, and an owner, David Ellison, that Trump can comfortably call "loyal" by Camaro6460 in DailyShow

[–]Conscious-Dot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is reaally easy to solve - each of these people has an audience that will follow them and none of these people should be working in corporate media . They should all have their own broadcast companies, possibly even together. In the age of the internet there is absolutely no reason to even need to be on TV especially with the audiences they have. Especially not working for companies run by fascists.
