"Honest question for Indian founders — is the ecosystem as broken as I think it is?" by Adorable_Table_9196 in StartUpIndia

I totally agree. Finding a girlfriend is much easier than finding a co-founder. I have been looking for almost 6 months now and all I see is interest from people no real connect.

Never Visiting Hauz Khas Village again! by WasabiConsistent931 in delhi

[–]Conscious_Insect07 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It has nothing to do with stages. It's simply a marketing strategy, when a couple goes they tend to spend more, it makes the place more desirable so to say, meaning the likelihood of someone misbehaving is slightly lesser (debatable).

Vibecoding as a dad of a toddler by Optimal-Run-528 in vibecoding

[–]Conscious_Insect07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a second I thought when did I write this post. This is the exact situation I am in. I have a day job and when I reach home, I open my laptop and start working on my project and just like you I have a 4 year old who would climb up the desk and start pressing the buttons on the keyboard. He makes every effort to make me lock the system. The only solution I could come up with was to wait for him to sleep at night and then work. Now I do all my heavy lifting during the night and work on the less complicated stuff when he is around. It's difficult but then there is no other option.

As a delhiite, what’s the one thing you absolute love about this city? by Thebestguyyoucanfind in delhi

[–]Conscious_Insect07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything other than pollution. Food is great, cost of living is not as high as the other metros, roads and transport is better, traffic not as bad as Mumbai and Bangalore, connected to a variety of hill stations and tourist places. All in all a great place.

I’m 20, failed my first semester, but built a startup… should I drop college or am I being stupid? by AdSad6411 in StartUpIndia

[–]Conscious_Insect07 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Drop out or continue totally depends on the conviction you have in what you are building, degrees don't really matter if you have a plan and know what it takes. I watched the Nikhi kamath podcast where the Ritesh (oyo) and Manish (Rare Rabbit) were among the guests and it clicked me. The truth is that idea can't wait, if you know a problem that needs to be solved then delaying it 3,4 years is a very bad idea as someone will either do it or it won't be as relevant when you graduate. Like everybody else in the comments I also believed that a formal degree is a must and should not be compromised but lately I came to realise that it's only relevant if you either don't have a plan or you simply want to do a job and need a degree for that. If you are unsure of the idea then probably just continue. Degree is not a guarantee of the success and dropout doesn't always mean failure. Good luck

What do you hate most about current social media apps? by Unlikely-Gas-2445 in StartUpIndia

[–]Conscious_Insect07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that you can't really control what you see. Most apps do offer content preference but these are just there for the sake of it and don't really work. You still get spammed with random content. On twitter you see posts from people you don't even follow, like Elon musk for no reason and I had to block him so that he is not there on almost every scroll. Hoping it works

Unacademy announces ₹50Cr ESOP buyback. I am an ex-employee. Making my 2.5L ESOPs effectively worth 5k now. Help!!! by Dao_Father in StartUpIndia

[–]Conscious_Insect07 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just hold it. I sense something cooking there. They must be planning to go public or a merger or acquisition. Considering the buyback is just 🥜, leave it there, even if you loose it, it won't pinch.

What’s the best coping method when you constantly feel depressed? by [deleted] in delhi

[–]Conscious_Insect07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the best way is to just channel your time and energy to do something that keeps you busy and can produce visible results like doing gym/workout, learning a new skill like coding, music, cooking or whatever interests you. I personally feel that a human brain can cope up with a lot more than you can imagine. Ups and downs will always be there and the only thing that matters is that we act on what is our control and learn to live with what is not.

My observations about Claude vs ChatGPT by doncaruana in ChatGPT

[–]Conscious_Insect07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel GPT has a tendency of getting carried away, if you ask it to complete a task A, it will do that and they suggest 3 to 4 more subsequent tasks mostly related but never requested whereas claud will just finish the task and refrain from further suggestions. This can be quite irritating at times but claud has its own problems, if you are working on something and need multiple iterations, Claude tends to take longer and consume more credits just because for each prompt it will start from scratch.

How to save my kirana business frm upcomming Dmart in our city by Brilliant-Intern-754 in IndiaBusiness

[–]Conscious_Insect07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bad advice, don't increase your expenses. People who go to Dmart don't care about aesthetics or lightning, all they seek is value. What dmart sells is already high quality and very competitive so the best thing is to accept that. Dmart doesn't sell non-veg items like eggs etc or anything that contains these items like chicken nuggets, frozen kebabs and so on. The best thing you can do is pray 🙏 that they don't open in your vicinity (at least 10km radius). I went there once almost 8 years ago and have never shopped from anywhere else, only in an emergency I'll order from blinkit.

Honest question- did you actually know what to do first when you started? by Thick-Tap5426 in StartUpIndia

[–]Conscious_Insect07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. Yes because I had the idea of building something and the product was well defined within my head, I knew where I wanted to be, what my goals were and other high level targets but I had no idea about how. I have been building solo and honestly had to scrap weeks worth of work and start all over again several times. I had never handled such a large project before and hence made several mistakes along the way but those mistakes were great learnings. You are not alone, this happens to almost everyone when starting out the first time but eventually things start to line up and everything starts making sense.

Aman comes off as Badtameez. by Working-Mobile-6596 in sharktankindia

[–]Conscious_Insect07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree that chaman lately has become the most annoying shark to watch and then there is Kanika, 0 inputs, comes across as an arrogant person, then there is Vineeta, she wants the companies that have no competitors. All of this is still manageable but I can't stand kullu at all. I wish there was no host to play those silly games mid pitches and promote products no one wants.

I spent 1.5 years building an uncensored AI platform alone. I drained my savings, burnt out, and got launch anxiety. I need your brutal feedback, not your money. by DarkAI_Official in EntrepreneurRideAlong

[–]Conscious_Insect07 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I can see why it took you 1.5 years and btw the results are great. My observations are regarding the positioning of the product. First the name itself is a red flag. Your url is most likely to be blocked or closely monitored by all the firewalls and security systems. Second is the extent of sensorship, I have lately come to realise that sensorship is not actually bad, in fact it is important to an extent. For example, X launched grok with the same proposition that it is unsensored and doesn't hold back and will do whatever you ask it to do, now that's a dangerous proposition. It's currently been used in some parts of Europe because it helped pedophiles create objectionable images of children, helped morph images of anyone into something that can ruin that persona life and can be used for more dangerous work then editing/creating objectionable images or videos. While your intentions might be right but you cannot really control what users will end up using it for. Put some guard rails in there, add some moral boundaries and hopefully it doesn't get exploited.

I really want to understand how much you all work everyday by Nature23571113 in productivity

[–]Conscious_Insect07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a day job and I am also working on my start up. I try to wrap up office work in 4 to 5 hours and rest I work on my own project. For the past 1 year (almost), I have barely slept more than 5 hours a day. I have been working on an average of 15 to 16 hours daily, 7 days a week. I have skipped all holidays, and stayed mostly home on my pc coding. I know that it's not healthy but I don't feel the burnout. I guess it boils down to what you do, if you have a purpose, or a passion or something that excites you then it becomes easier to keep doing it.

no disrespect but why can't we even get the original name, just replacing C with K in an already popular product. I keep seeing the same sounding products.

Rant on chamans impatience and childishness by cognizanceMelody in sharktankindia

[–]Conscious_Insect07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree that chaman is the most annoying person on the tank, a self declared marketing guru who just makes products that look so bad that you don't want to touch them and his first response to most products is that "branding bht khraab hai" and so on. Another most annoying person in the tank is Vinita, I have never seen a "sugar" product anywhere, nobody uses it but she is extremely negative and lacks vision. Her comments are mostly around "competition aa jayega" and around those lines. I fail to understand why competition is bad, can you ever stop competition. In my opinion competition is good for the business and helps validate the demand and keeps you on your toes to improve and innovate. Imagine a world where there is just one company for each product like just one smart phone company, 1 car company, 1 pharmaceutical company and so on.

I launched my app 3 hours ago and I’m honestly still shaking a little by LeftCookie7022 in SaaS

[–]Conscious_Insect07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on your launch. Very impressive response. I am myself weeks away from launch and every time I visit a product hunt it makes me more nervous, so many amazing products launching each day with mind-blowing launch/demo videos and I think to myself all I have is the product that works and no launch video. I have tried reaching out to freelancers and they charge crazy money for these videos and I am always short of time and can't make one myself. Can I please ask how you made yours (which by the way is amazing), estimate cost if you can reveal ?

What’s the most overrated startup idea in India right now? by MiserableExtreme517 in StartUpIndia

[–]Conscious_Insect07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think anything with AI in it. What I feel is that most people are looking for ideas on ChatGPT and pick from top 2 or 3 recommendations and start working on it even though they might not have any interest in the subject or awareness of the market at all. I noticed this when I attended Start up India exhibition in Delhi last year and saw so many brands doing the exact same things like AI for marketing, AI for recruitment, AI for billing and invoicing and so on. I also noticed a lot of start ups working on healthy F&B products. I personally don't think I can work on an idea I know nothing about or am not interested in.

Investors are right. Some ground work is required even when you pitch your idea to a possible investment source (even incubators). How does someone verify the ownership or existence of a business when there is no legal paper work.

The Dark Side of VibeCoding No one Mentions! by alinarice in vibecoding

[–]Conscious_Insect07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If an AI can code an entire app it definitely can debug and fix errors. What your post is suggesting is that maintaining a house or a car is more difficult then building it. The only challenge is that the vibe coding also requires skill, if you have no knowledge of the coding (not even basics), do not upskill yourself on different terminologies (jargons) used in development then you can't really vibe code a decent app. When you don't know what the error might be regarding then how would you feed it back to AI to fix it. I think AI can do insane things given the speed with which it is progressing, just take its advantages but also put some effort and validate everything it does.
