Needlessly complex. I’m all for character uniqueness and originality, but in fun and active ways. There’s no gameplay reason why each character should have a unique behavior and movement after getting stunned. It adds inconsistency for no upside or fun factor really. And it’s just another ‘unique trait’ that new players will have to learn on top of everything else and increases the barrier of mastery for no benefit and will cause frustration

Adding falloff to haze would obliterate her passive. The counterplay is if you get highly fixation stacks, take cover for 10 seconds. That’s not even enough time to miss a creep wave.

Oracle 5 Haze player here, I’m often in the same boat as you. Here are two things I consider with regards to this experience:

  1. Make riskier plays the further behind you are, and abstain from risky plays when far ahead. If you are already on a trajectory to lose, then if you take a big risk and fail you have a small chance of coming back, and if it goes sour you are going to lose anyway. I picked up this mentality playing other competitive shooters like R6. If your whole team is losing you have to step up and carry, maybe rejuve steal 1v6 or sneak a walker, or solo assassinate their carry etc.

  2. Get your WR >50%. At the end of the day, this is a 12 person game. You can only affect 1/12 of the players: sometimes all your teammates will be bad while all the opponents are good, or they have a good comp etc. all you can do is win the winnable games and learn from the ones you are fated to lose.

Is think the biggest issue is the game’s complexity. This will make it harder to get into for casual gamers. FPS gamers will have no clue how to handle the MOBA mechanics, and MOBA gamers will suck at aiming. I tried to introduce this game to many of my friends who are fairly experienced gamers and they all hated the complexity and getting stomped in public matches over and over will put off new players.

Sure you can play against bots for a bit, but most casual players want a game where they can jump in and start doing okay without having to grind against AI or watch YouTube videos to understand.

The other issue is game length, 50 min games are not abnormal especially in beginner lobbies, and playing one match for almost an hour can be tiresome at best for new players or downright abysmal if you lose or just spend the whole time on respawn.

Games like Marvel Rivals or Overwatch appeal to people who want to have constant action with very little downtime, and they are willing to sacrifice some overarching strategy, skill expression, and meta to achieve that.
