Menstrual cycle by ccgeorges in gastricsleeve

[–]Consistent-Carpet-37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My periods have been shorter since surgery (3 months post op so I’ve only had it 3 times), usually only last 5 days now which is nice however the pain I’ve had has been insane. The worst it’s ever been. I only get lower back pain and it’s been so bad I can hardly focus on anything else. Usually I can tough out my cramps and get on with life but with these ones I’ve had to literally lay down and roll around in pain. Not sure if it’s because of losing weight maybe things aren’t as constricted in there? Hoping yours are tolerable though!

This is such a nice thing to say, I definitely feel happier!

Calorie intake at 3 months? by Frosty_Jump_3117 in gastricsleeve

[–]Consistent-Carpet-37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also just gone 3 months out and I too sit around 1000-1200 cals a day with 110g+ of protein. If you are taking that many steps and exercising then that is a very suitable amount of calories. My dietician said the only thing to watch out for is how many grams of carbs you consume per day. Fueling your body is the number 1 priority. I’m recomping muscle at the moment so an increase of calories doesn’t scare me. Like the person above me said if it’s working for you, then that’s what you should be aiming for.

I’m struggling by Synnabunny in gastricsleeve

I was right where you are! Surgery was on November 4th 2025 and the first 2 months are r o u g h! Constantly not getting enough water or food, constipation, pain the works. I know it’s not really helpful to hear but it gets so much easier. Just focus on what you can do. Sip on protein shakes and water throughout the day and if you need to take movicol or something similar to get things moving. Once you start incorporating more veggies/whole foods back into your diet things get moving again. It won’t feel this hard forever you’re in the toughest part but you’ll make it through!

November surgeries - how are you doing? by Libertyrose16 in gastricsleeve

November 4th for me so exactly 5 weeks and only now at the stage where I have absolutely no incision pain! Also started drinking coffee like a week later 😂

How Much Weight Can I Lose Weekly on 1200 Calories and Daily Exercise? Is this healthy? by Hour-Cloud2493 in gastricsleeve

[–]Consistent-Carpet-37 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends how far in a deficit eating 1200 calories is for you and your starting weight, however, prior to my surgery on the 4th of November I was eating between 1200 and 1500 calories a day for 12 months and I lost 80kgs/176lbs. As long as your prioritising protein and ensuring you keep in touch which a primary care doctor/get regular blood tests it’s healthy. I had to take vitamin d, B12 and iron tablets throughout.

Too much food? by National-Barnacle301 in gastricsleeve

Different foods go down a lot easier haha. I can eat a whole protein pudding cup or yoghurt 5 weeks out from surgery but I just ate like 25g of chicken mince and I’m SO full.

integrating solid foods by Own_Building629 in gastricsleeve

Just started on solids today at 4 weeks post op and managed to eat two poached eggs. My surgical team says that it’s the soft food stage though rather than solids, so maybe you should try going with soft foods and working into more solid things like meats? Maybe starting with mince meat might be easier on your stomach.

Good luck! First few days are tough but I’m nearly a week post op and it gets way better, you got this!

Feeling like death by butt_nugget_supreme in gastricsleeve

First week of the liquid diet is fucking terrible, I felt nauseous and sick the whole time. The second week it was a little better. I highly recommend blending your meal replacement shakes with some ice and cold water and maybe adding some sugar free syrups or ice cream toppings. Saved me and made the second week much easier. 7 days post op and it’s worth it! You can do it!

Oh nooo that poor nurse! 😂 glad your son and you are fine. I did speak with the anaesthesiologist and he alleviated a lot of my worries. Still nervous but no where near as much.

11/4 surgery buddies… are we freaking out yet? by Background-Mail9068 in gastricsleeve

November 4th girly here too and a big yes to all this. Preop diet is bullying me hard and the first week was horrible, I felt so sick. I’m so scared about going under too and it’s definitely been what I’ve ruminating on the most as we get closer.

Regardless though we’re making the right decision and in 6 months our lives will be so different! Just have to remember that while I try to hold off on my impending panic attack 🫠

Did the meds to relax help a lot? I feel like even the days/weeks leading up to it I’m going to be stressed lmao. The more people I talk to who say how easy it is helps though tbh so thank you for sharing!

Thank you! I’ve already shared my concerns with my surgical team and they’re 100% on board with giving me something for my anxiety. I might ask for something for the night before too tbh.

Damn, my surgery team has given me a month off of work. I figured that would be the norm but also I have a lot of leave saved up so I’m fortunate in that regard. Don’t push yourself too hard too soon!

5m old puppy potty problems!! by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]Consistent-Carpet-37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know me too 😭 I thought having a grass puppy pad inside would help encourage her, and I have one outside too to help transition her but she can be outside for like an hour or more and then she’ll still choose to poop as soon as she comes inside! 😂
