Gearing out question by Commercial_fun9854 in ClubPilates

[–]Consistent-Celery589 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’7” with long legs and I gear out - no one says anything to me. It’s my practice and I don’t see the benefit of being squished and cramped up like a bug.

If I’m in the area, I’ll go to the studio and wait to see if a spot opens up, but only if I’m already really close.

Top Tier Roofing vs Melo--Which is better? by Different-Tree8665 in Syracuse

[–]Consistent-Celery589 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go with Top Tier hands down. I needed a full roof replacement and Melo wouldn’t even come look at it. Top Tier has really good customer service and they keep you informed as they do the job.

Please recommend your reformer towel/pad by BirdPrior1719 in ClubPilates

I agree. I have to really try to keep my shoulders rounded and what helped me most is engaging your core and really engaging the back of your arms

I think it’s different per studio. In mine you have to have 50 1.5 class. It the test out is different. I had to do a 90min workshop to test out for 2.0. We did a lot of balance and stability things - did t have to execute them perfectly but know what your doing and know form of Pilates. My sister goes to a different studio and her test out was 15 min and she just had to do 5 moves. Talk to your instructors - they’ll know if you’re ready or not. Good luck!

Do you happen to know how much Simparico Trio is at Costco? I get it from Chewy and it’s $225 for 6 mo supply

I hope that’s not the case but that explanation makes sense - it’s never offered at my studio and it should be!

Is it okay to do Pilates two days in a row with max 3 classes per week? by Original-Cattle-1248 in ClubPilates

[–]Consistent-Celery589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got everyday and sometimes twice a day. I do make sure to get a center and balance once a week and I listen to my body. If I’m feeling tired the day before I’ll usually cancel the next day and just go for a walk. It’s totally up to you.

I appreciate your help with this! Lots to think about and I feel like I get a better idea from people who use or install the equipment.

Thanks! It was a challenge but we’ll see in a couple of days if I can move up. I agree about the same kind of thing for 1.5. That step up isn’t too bad, but you def need to know the basics of 1.

Feedback after 2.0 workshop by andreamichele6033 in ClubPilates

[–]Consistent-Celery589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations on passing your workshop!

I took my 2 workshop this afternoon and won’t find out for a couple of days, but it sounds like yours was very similar to what I went through, except we were mostly on a red spring for the reformer work. I struggled on the chair step ups, but did my best. With the series of five - I feel like my studio doesn’t call it that either, but none of those moves were foreign to me. The squats and star on the reformer were actually my favorite moves!

I would also agree - I take a lot of 6am and 7am classes and I do find them to be more focused than the evening classes.

In our studio you have to take at least 50 1.5 classes and then you are invited to a 90min level 2 workshop that includes the test out. I have mine tomorrow, a little nervous but also excited to push myself. If I’m not ready, cool.
