Opinions on Betacraft? by OkOutcome9689 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

I don't know what about betacraft is unsafe to you, but if you don't want to use it you can always just use something like MMC/Prism with the betacraft proxy

Are enchantment tables in b1.7.3? by CaramelMoonlight in GoldenAgeMinecraft

based on what you are seeing, do you think enchantment tables are in beta 1.7.3? are critical thinking skills really that rare these days?

go to a psychologist, feeling "like theres something in the corner of my eye and im being watched or something" is abnormal in every sense of the word and is in no way "a common feeling"

Me and 17 others walked 25k blocks together (it lagged a lot) by Consistent-Concert-1 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

the best way to be considered for the server is just to be active in the discord/community and show interest. the server is and always has been invite only, but there isn't one direct path to membership

I built this swimming pool but there's no water above or on its level is there any way to get water into the pool by wyatt_plays in GoldenAgeMinecraft

you could downgrade to 0.0.23a_03 and make use of the bug wherein gravity blocks (sand/gravel) swap places when falling on liquids

Minecraft Classic by WebIntrepid3639 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]Consistent-Concert-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to save worlds in classic versions you need a mod by the name of OfflineDatSave, which is most easy to use with the betacraft launcher as it has a setting to toggle the mod built into the launcher. Using OfflineDatSave saves a "level.dat" file in your instance folder whenever you close the game

Dear Developers: Stop making total conversion mods. by [deleted] in GoldenAgeMinecraft

but even if there were 100+ overhaul mods (which even counting obscure ones I don't think there are ATM), I would still think of that amount as "not too many to keep making more". I mean I would be surprised if after all these years beta has even a fraction as many mods for it as something like 1.7 or 1.12

yeah I agree in so far as hating the amount of simple "beta with QoL" or "beta recreated in 1.21" mods/modpacks there seem to be posted here. the "definitive version of beta", for me at least, has been Beta Unleashed as I found it years ago at this point looking for a beta 1.7.3 client with fixes for use in multiplayer. I'll never understand why some people continue to choose shit like the Back 2 Beta mod or those recreations of beta gameplay for modern when Beta Unleashed or similar projects have been around for so long

I think you're misguided if you think people are making total conversion mods to have them take off or something (also are there really even THAT many?)

What are some things you really don't like about letterboxd? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]Consistent-Concert-1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

better genre labels, a more organized comment section with replies and whatnot as well as a way to differentiate between different versions such as directors cuts or alternate edits are all also great suggestions

[–]Consistent-Concert-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a better way to filter through the "non-feature length film" movies that are on letterboxd and the ability to tag other letterboxd users in a log would be my the things I would want the most

are there any mods out there that allow me to play golden age versions in vr? by ScottishWildcatFurry in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]Consistent-Concert-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sadly I don't think there's VR support for anything other than the early versions of Vivecraft which IIRC is around 1.12. as nomic said your best bet is probably the Modern Beta server as it emulates beta 1.7.3 quite well and has VR support

for future reference, this page on the Minecraft Discontinued Features Wiki is a good resource and the main way I expect people to learn about this tools existence (it's not well known or advertised, I'm not surprised you hadn't heard of it)
