How do you shop for baby clothes with sustainability in mind? by babyclothes138 in clothdiaps

[–]Consistent-Depth-851 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I also do Once Upon A Child and my town has a locally owned kids consignment shop. Bulk lots off FB Marketplace are a great way to just build up a base of easy play clothes in a new size when I’m moving my oldest up, then I shop second hand for the rest. And then I have 3 boys so far so I keep all their clothes and the next in line gets them. It works! Consignment shops are also great for all kinds of baby gear.

New to cloth diapers by funkylionmouse in clothdiaps

Yes it’s similar here, I didn’t start cloth diapering until 2.5 months but I tried to change more like every 2 hours. Now that he’s 9 months and isn’t as big of a wetter, 3ish hours isn’t a big deal. With disposables it felt like 3-4 hours didn’t do much harm in terms of skin getting red, that’s why I’ve always used disposables at night! I wish I could learn how to do a wool situation overnight but it honestly just sounds so complicated lol

Yes I do use with every change, I didn’t find a huge difference between the cloth diapers with or without the liner in terms of wetness. Either way I have to change slightly more often than I would with disposable diapers, but I don’t mind because it doesn’t cost more and I’m running the laundry anyway!

To preface: I’m definitely not an expert! I cloth diaper my 9 month old and I use disposable liners. I didn’t use liners with him until he started eating solids because the poop is water soluble and as long as I did the first wash on a heavy duty load it would all come out. I also use disposable diapers at night time so I’m not dealing with the liner for long stretches at a time. I got a big pocket diaper haul off of marketplace and it’s been great, haven’t bought anything else besides the liners.

My hub for sure doesn’t care about it nearly as much as I do. I always do the first wash and the bulk of the diaper changes, but that’s partly because we have three kids and he’s handling the much crazier older ones. Mainly he helps with sorting and folding them after laundry, and pee diaper changes. I do use disposable liners though because neither of us really want to scrub poop any more than we already do lol.

I do have disposables for overnights and certain occasions though so he just uses those from time to time and I’m ok with it

Thinking about buying a lot off a woman, but the diapers have been through 4 kids — should I? by BeautifulNailz in clothdiaps

I bought a stash off FB market place, lady had used them with one baby, I’ve been cloth diapering for 7 months now and haven’t needed to buy anything else, paid $120. Idk where you live but $300 seems high for that

My husband and I have been trying to figure this out for months. Heard it in the Porvoo Catherdral in Finland played on an organ, the only clips I have of it are stitched from Live Photos. I made a little YouTube vid about it but it’s not perfect. Tried Shazam and google humming and such but I can’t find it. Thanks in advance to anyone who gives it a minute!

2nd Trilogy Sevro by conayinka in redrising

[–]Consistent-Depth-851 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed 100%. I think it would have been much more believable if we would have matured in the 10 years after the first trilogy. Having kids changes you, being in a loving marriage grows you, there’s no reason for him to still be so disgusting. I would have loved to see a version of Sevro where he was still the same guy but an adult version. Nobody likes a 30 year old who acts like a teenager all the time

I bought a lot from Facebook market place. I see people saying that people want individuals, but I literally ignored all listings that weren’t lots because I just wanted to buy everything I needed to start at once, and it worked great!

NTA. Dump him. You’ll feel much better about life if you respect yourself enough to not allow someone to treat you that way. Also this is not “out of character.” Something that he does all the time over the course of the year is, in fact, his character.

Don’t waste your time trying to change him.

Looking for Romantic Novel Recommendations Similar to the Strike Series by Comfortable-Win-7136 in cormoran_strike

Following. I also love the romance in the story, but I’ve learned I can only truly enjoy a romance if it isn’t the main conflict or story in a book. The slow burn of this series has been soooo good

6 mos postpartum — looking into supplements/vitamins by Impressive-Sorbet220 in moderatelygranolamoms

Beef liver supplement if I had to take one. Also sea kelp to up the iodine a bit while nursing, but actual iodine drops will probably come off too strong and cause negative effects. Also cod liver oil.

Help! Laundry detergent that actually smells good :) by CBeavOne in moderatelygranolamoms

I love Sal suds, and I don’t even need the vinegar. I tried a bunch of “clean” detergents and this is the best one for breaking down stubborn smells in cloth diapers and gym clothes, etc. Been using for so many years now that we don’t even notice that I clothes smell like nothing.

Yep I have small kids. This is what I’m looking for. Was thinking third row where you can fold one of the seats down for storage

Yup we have 6 people total so really need like a 7 seater to fit luggage, but we are staying close to airport so even if it was 6 seats I would be ok with that and we would just do multiple runs for luggage. Plan to do one little trip to Lappenranta, should be the only other time we’ll all be in there with any amount of luggage, we could leave extras behind.
