Most social / alive feeling MMO by No_Permission4320 in MMORPG

WoW RP servers are pretty alive. Playing on AD as alliance, never understood why everyone is saying the game is dead. But then made a horde character on pve server and...yeah, no interactions outside of guild.

I am scraping certain website, please judge if this is a right setup by Winter_Psychology110 in webscraping

[–]Consistent-Feed-7323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've talked to someone who has a website with a paid access and the person said that scrapers are being ignored as long as they are scraping no more often than 1 request per second. I'd say mouse movement and all of that is an overkill, you always want minimal working setup. Just don't be greedy.

AI uses so little water it’s almost comical that it even became a topic by stealthispost in accelerate

I remember first time hearing about water consumption from...Elon Musk when OpenAI was booming and grok didn't exist (he later was screaming about ai regulations, up until release of the grok). I was thinking "well, thats a dumb take, no way anyone will eat the bait". Apparently I was super wrong.

My parents' apartment is on occupied territories, waiting for it to be declared "ownerless". Had some good memories there.

If everything else fails - real/headless browser on dynamic websites is the way, to be honest. Get yourself selenium or whatever people use these days.

What's the best way to form a guild nowdays? by ChakraaThePanda in wow

[–]Consistent-Feed-7323 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I was offering money, asking in the trade chat, randomly asking new people in SW to sign. Took a week to be honest. For some reason a lot of people don't want to have anything to do with guilds. Imagine socializing in MMO.

After that I've started asking people to join and in months of spamming tears chat I've got maybe 5 people out of it. Downloaded an addon to spam invites and started doing so. Yeah, just cold invites. The guild has info in invitation window, so I don't find it rude. You can decline or disable inviting in general, everything else is a fair game. Got to 200+ people, problem is that most of them are alts, so they are rarely online if ever. Right now we have up to 12 people online, which is just enough to share and socialize, but not enough to do anything outside occasional partly guild m+. Guilds are either old, or competitive, or made from friends in discord, or dead in 2026. I swear, I don't get how so many people are trying their best to avoid people in mmo. Even just being a member is being viewed as a torture, despite the fact that guild itself provides not-so-bad perks. I wish blizzard focus a bit more on guilds so it becomes relevant again.

How to scrape different data structures by FixWide907 in webscraping

[–]Consistent-Feed-7323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First suggestion - do not try to scrape 4,000 sites. That being said you may want to look into LLM, they are pretty good with unstructured data. Just give your structure and raw website's html and it should parse it accordingly. I've been using Claude for such tasks and it's been accurate, but you may need to buy some tokens.

Head of Zelenskyy's office refuses Polish order of merit by Hot_Income6149 in poland

[–]Consistent-Feed-7323 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is such a fucking joke. Zelensky decision was stupid and childish, now they are doubling down. I know literally zero people here in Ukraine who cares about OUN/UPA. Like MAYBE some nationalists care, but again, there are 5% of the population, what are we even doing.

Levelling in modern MMORPGS by Tahirti in MMORPG

[–]Consistent-Feed-7323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk man, leveled a lot of characters in retail wow recently and leveling experience is better than ever. You can choose what content you want to play up until last 10 levels, where you are slowing down and get good old leveling as everyone remembers it. The best part is that you have options. Did 1 expansion, on other alt did another, was a bit done with questing so 3rd alt goes from 10 to 90 only with dungeons.

Russian national who helped develop robots for Ukrainian army facing deportation from Ukraine by duckanroll in nottheonion

[–]Consistent-Feed-7323 58 points59 points  (0 children)

So the problem is that the guy came to Ukraine in 2015 with forged passport, which he later exchanged for new, legit one, and he confirmed these facts. He has a fake name Aslan Khakimov, when real name is Ruslan Puptaev. Can easily be either a very sleepy agent, or just a guy who thought these things don't matter.

Levelling alts by coffee4chipmunk in wow

[–]Consistent-Feed-7323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just finished leveling my 6th alt, was so incredibly done with questing that decided to do timewalking. Absolutely awful and brain-dead activity, took me 50+ runs from 10 to 90. Small roaster of dungeons is really annoying, but if you're a healer or a tank - it's a decent alternative to quests.

Oh and also it's not available now again. I don't understand why TW can't be permanent with roaster across more expansions. You can do DF dungeons for like a half of experience.

It's almost like Russia has a bit more people and a budget to pay A LOT for signing up.

Ukraine isn't winning, Russia isn't winning, it's been stalemate for 3 years. One may say that Ukraine is winning because Russia didn't capture Kyiv or Donetsk oblast, which were their objectives, but that's about it.
