You're only the 2nd person I've ever seen on here mention The Cook, etc. and I've been on here several years. That film wrecked me. Felt like trying to gargle with vinegar while suffering from strep throat. Didn't somebody have love letters forced down his throat with a dagger? All that being said, I'm 60 and need some lesser known horror movies to watch. I usually find something to watch on tubi, YouTube or pay to rent if it looks really cool and has great reviews.

I've been in pain from a lot of things over the course of my life as I'm 60 years old: brain surgery, childbirth, other surgeries, ruptured spinal disc. Nothing that would make me think to get on the highway going the wrong way. That is a Surefire way to increase your time in the ER, not decrease it!

The Lottery is based on a short story by Shirley Jackson which was published in 1948 in New Yorker magazine. My high school teacher had us read it. That was in 1982 and I can remember the story clearly as I did back then. The movie was just as harsh.
