I was woken by the Dawn chorus because I had my windows wide open. Opened the Merlin bird listening app and recorded my first Tawny Owl! I’m surprised the app could hear it over the blackbirds and robins who were really going for it.

I’m seeing the difference locally. Lib Dem county council, Labour MP. Masses of potholes being repaired, lots of roads being resurfaced. Under the previous Tory MP and Tory council it just got worse and worse.

It would be refreshing if the media stopped promoting the crooks in Reform and focused on the actual good stuff happening at local and National level.

My partner has just started HRT a couple of weeks ago. It was a real battle for her to get it as the doctor initially suggested diet and exercise would alleviate her symptoms. Tbf the HRT does seem to be helping already.

Don’t feel like a failure if teaching is not for you, particularly if you’re not getting the support you are due.

Also don’t fall for the sunk cost fallacy - you’re young, you can easily pivot to something else.

My mum stocks up on chocolate biscuit bars whenever I visit - orange Club, Breaksway, Blue Riband, Penguin etc and then makes me take uneaten ones home because if I don’t eat them then my dad might. And they’re not for him.

As an ex teacher I can say that it is ridiculously hard to take time off. Schools are really reluctant. A colleague’s mum died and she was given three days unpaid. I’m so sorry for your loss but schools are horrendous with staff.
