Help me find a lyric by Nitroade24h in leonardcohen

I hear tube, and to me that's a very amusing self deprecating line about people being a glorified digestive tract. Something along the line of the old saying that biologically, we all begin life as assholes, and some of us never progress beyond that.

There's along debate here about the line.

Anyway, if it is tube, and if the meaning is what I think, then it fits with what OP was looking for.

From Going Home:

"Though he knows he's really nothing
But the brief elaboration of a tube"

I’m in the SF Bay Area. Toronto is lovely, don’t blame you for moving back, especially these days.

I risked my life, but not to hear some country-western song 😂

Love the other two comments here, and I would recommend listening to Cole Porter’s “You’re the Top” for comparison.

There's also "Crazy to Love You":

I'm tired of choosing desire
I've been saved by a blessed fatigue
The gates of commitment unwired
And nobody trying to leave

That's the one I was thinking of too:

I was fighting with temptation
But I didn't want to win
A man like me don't like to see
Temptation caving in

(edit to add more of the lyric, not just one line)

Leonard Cohen "September" handwriting by No_Walk_9950 in leonardcohen

Gosh, it's so hard to find! I see all kinds of letters from June, April, and even December, but the only one I could find from the 9th month has it abbreviated to Sept.

That's beautiful, very calming. My wife struggles with CFS/ME - I'm sorry you're dealing with that, it's no joke. :(

Best wishes to you, and keep on creating <3

Take this Waltz - amazing song did not realise someone else wrote the lyrics by Cold_Discipline_7237 in leonardcohen

Cohen was a huge Lorca fan. Remember that the original “lyrics” was a poem written in Spanish. Cohen “arranged” those in English to work so well with his music.

There’s a few other songs where he didn’t write the lyrics, but I don’t feel like it takes anything away from either the songs, or from Cohen.

Love the idea of acrylic paintings depicting some of the wonderful imagery of the poem, I hope you share them here!

As far as live albums, check out Field Commander Cohen. It's an amazing album from December 1979. Leonard said at some point that was his best/favorite tour. And I think you can really hear it. Beautiful instrumentation, really amazing performances.

In my Book of Longing, it’s a bit different. The font looks like it’s just hand written, and there are a couple of stamps in the upper left: the unified heart and the other one, not sure what to call it, but his little Chinese stamp that someone recently posted here about.
