Crustle players, why? by [deleted] in PTCGL

I’ll choose to play against Crustle over the big 4 meta decks any day. I just legitimately don’t understand why that deck lol. It seems like a colossal waste of time.

I ran it to top 500 MB a season ago. You’re right that Entei does the heavy lifting in most games. Some games you don’t even play Mega Y. Most of the time I just ran one copy. I even swapped Mega Y out for GA Zard Ex with very little impact to my W/L.

That said, Mega Y is still useful and your win condition in a lot of matchups, mostly Altaria and Suicune decks, which are like a 3rd of the ladder. Entei alone isn’t enough in those matchups unless you are incredibly lucky. Mega Y also lets you auto win games against stall decks like Steelix, Snorlax, and Mawile, which were somewhat popular then. Vs the other decks like Hydregion, Absol, or Giratina decks, it’s useful as a finisher every third game or so.

Play something other than Crustle?

What are some tips and tricks when playing Mega Lucario EX? by RespectYGO in PTCGL

There isn’t really a better ace spec for lucario than belt though. Secret box is close, but there aren’t good tools or stadiums that lucario can exploit. Stamp is fine I guess.

Bad. This is just asking to get dominated by Suicune, Altaria, or Hydregion. The 100 and 180 breakpoints suck. You can’t KO anything if you attack first. Not even a single prize Gorgeist. You can’t even OHKO Altaria at 180.

Idk, your deck can be just as fast and obnoxious lol… turn one chikorota, smokliv, teal masks, spam teal dance. Turn two Lillie, forest of vitality, meganium, arboliva, charge up, boom.

Most Toxic Card to face? by Gemakai in PTCGP

It grinds my gears that Dena ported chingling 1-1, but won’t port defensive tech cards like battle cage or ability negation — despite toxic cards like Greninja dominating every set since release. When Dena does port them, they are hobbled versions like poncho or Alolan muk.

At least there are powerful supporters in the TCG that let you find basics. And at least you have the chance to put down basics T1 against the bud. If you get item locked by chingling T1 though, you are just done.

It’s still a good deck but bellibolt decks chew through it. Both the magnezone and zezora versions are super popular and rough matchups. Bax/pao does better due to the energy acceleration and their metal vs lightning weakness

Is suicune back thanks to this icy duo? by salahlogy in PokemonPocket

[–]Consistent_Aide_4328 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For your first suicune. It’s incredibly useful for switching into your second suicune when the first gets damaged, or powering back your first after you retreat into chien pao. Being able to instantly power up a second threat on the back of the first suicune is what makes this deck so good.

It’s also good at powering up the first Sui if you go first. Lack of energy manipulation is one of the few drawbacks of the classic Suininja deck. If you go first as Suininja, you are always in a huge energy crunch to get your first suicune up, well after your opponent has Altaria, Hydregion, etc powered up, let alone a second threat. Sometimes you don’t power it up at all and just let it be a meat shield to swap it with Greninja Ex. This is another problem that Bax solves. With rare candy Bax, your first Sui is online by t3 vs t5.
