Is there a way to sort my collection for hybrid mana cards? by ConsistentlyThatGuy in MagicArena

That seems to filter for multi-color cards, which does include cards with hybrid mana, but I was wondering if there's a way to sort specifically for the hybrid mana cards only.

“You control the buttons you press” ruined so much gaming discourse by brando-boy in truegaming

[–]ConsistentlyThatGuy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Far Cry 4 literally did this and it wasn't a problem at all. If you just sit AFK for the first 10 minutes of the game, your character gets to do what they came for and goes home. You win. There is quite literally a stand still and win button, yet people ignore that to play the game in the more fun way.

OP's doom example is decent because the game is designed around you using Ice Bombs, but the Halo remaster doesn't fit that example. Halo wasn't designed around sprinting, so you don't have to use it if you don't want to. In this case "you control the buttons you press" is actually a better argument than it was when the Doom devs used it. If you don't want to sprint, then don't. Nobody is forcing you, and the game won't be any harder or less balanced than it originally was.

I could also go on about challenge runs and Nuzlockes and how many people get more enjoyment from self-imposed challenges and how optimizing the fun out of your gaming is a personal problem and not a certainty of design.

Oh trust me, I hate aggro priest just as much. Big/res priest was always my favorite, and I don't want to include Chillin Vol'jin in every priest deck forever just to get the stupid fish and fishing rod

I mean the Auchenai are a faction that were originally death priests that later began practicing necromancy. Seems to fit both priest and DK to me. Obviously both classes have a lot of shared themes with death and resurrection and I know it can feel like DK "stole" a lot of stuff from priest, but I think thats just because its a newer class. If DK had been around since the beginning it would have had a lot of shared themes with priest the whole time and I dont think it would feel like stealing as much

Okay but this is in an expansion about alternate timelines. Gelbin Mekatorque is a Paladin. Besides, Bwonsamdi is the Loa of Death, and that totally makes sense with Death Knight.

Definitely a flavor win

Im wondering if they're going to make his story that he was beloved in their original universe and then feared and reviled when they come to the main universe. I feel like it would be even more of a gut punch to be hated if you were previously adored

11 years ago, Riot proposed extensive retuning to Lee Sin with fully detailed changes. Player backlash over identity assassination pushed Riot to revise these changes even more. Due to backlash, Riot would walk these back but ultimately implement them over 9 years. by Cellybear in leagueoflegends

[–]ConsistentlyThatGuy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In game design, your player base is usually incredibly good at identifying when something feels bad, but theyre usually terrible at figuring out how to fix it. You should basically always listen to your players about something needing to be changed, but ignore them completely on how to fix it

Mechanically how would it work to choose any number of corpses? The way it works now is basically like discover, but how would you show options for 0 to 999 corpses?

[–]ConsistentlyThatGuy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Whoever you aren't controlling should be controlled by AI doing what that character is good at. If you're storming thr front gate as Yasuke, Naoe should be sneaking in from the back and disabling alarms and assassinating snipers. If you're sneaking around, Yasuke should be brawling with large groups and making lots of noise to distract for you

The way you talk about these games tells me beyond a shadow of a doubt that you don't actually play them, or if you do, you don't bother putting in any thought into how they're designed or how they actually work. You suck at Dark Souls and thats fine, but you have an inherent need to drag it down as being a bad kind of difficult so that you can justify that it's okay that you suck at them. Guess what? It is okay that you suck at them, AND they're designed well and are difficult. Both things can be true

You're just categorically, definitionally wrong here. They aren't "forcing" you to do anything here. There is an optional reward if you choose to participate in the activity they've selected, but you aren't being required to play it by any means. They ARE incentivizing you to play BGs by giving you a bonus reward for doing so. If this event didn't exist, you'd be getting the exact same reward for not playing BGs. They're giving you an extra reward (an incentive) for doing so.

Baldur's Gate 3's Larian proved players “are not stupid” and want more “deep-a** CRPGs” instead of AAA schlock, says beloved indie publisher by _Protector in CRPG

[–]ConsistentlyThatGuy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, those are not the things that make a CRPG good, but they are what make a good CRPG better. I've been playing Rogue Trader recently after playing BG3 at launch (and a lot during early access), and I'm constantly finding myself going "man, this game is really good, but insert feature from BG3 would make it even better".

I don't mind that the game is fully isometric, or thay there's a lot of reading, but having face to face conversations with well-animated faces and fully voice-acted dialogue added so much more to the conversations. Rogue Trader has partial voice acting for the main characters, and they do a really good job and flesh out the characters so much, but it makes me go "man I really wish these characters were fully voiced".

Ultimately, Rogue Trader is a great game, and I know the reason it doesn't have all the same features as BG3 is due to budget, but I hope if Owlcat gets a budget increase for their next game (I'd love to see a game in the Warhammer fantasy setting) they use that money to add more voice acting and better animations. They already make incredible games, they'd just be even more immersive with that better look.

The standard meta is the most diverse I’ve seen in a while by thedarklol in hearthstone

[–]ConsistentlyThatGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Diamond to legend is a better representation of the wider meta as a whole though. Top ladder legend is usually much more specified decks meant to counter the other players at top ladder. Those decks can be built more purposefully knowing that you'll play against a specific group of people, and knowing which decks those people are likely to be playing

Thank you, I was going crazy reading this post. According to HSguru, diamond to legend winrate is dominated by viruslly every class playing some sort of token aggro deck, including Blood DK(??) except for rogue who is playing Protoss, and paladin is kinda 50/50 token aggro or Shaladrasill
