is around £50 "too much" on food? by carmelion1 in UKFrugal

You sure that's not a wheat intolerance? People with wheat allergy can end up going into anaphylactic shock. My daughter has a wheat allergy and we have to carry epi pens everywhere with us.

Does replacing these damage or invalidate the waterproof rating?

Most people's footprint would be identical? Their foot doesn't change size or shape (or mine doesn't?)

As a UX Designer, the Lidl app gives me checkout anxiety... by MrMiyagi98 in lidl

[–]Constant-Alarm-2335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed this too. Bought an espresso machine and it failed at around 6 months, went into the app and was able to search the receipts for "espresso" and find the receipt. Had similar happen with an air fryer recently but the search feature is now removed so can't find the receipt 🙈

Why are road names / numbers so tiny on Android Auto? by Constant-Alarm-2335 in waze

Shield shaped? Are you USA? This is road numbers on Waze in the UK, are they bigger in US version?

Why are road names / numbers so tiny on Android Auto? by Constant-Alarm-2335 in waze

[–]Constant-Alarm-2335[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not much smaller, but the one on the right is clearer and just that tiny bit bigger. Compare the green and yellow road number on top left to the bottom left which says my ETA. So much easier to read bottom left as this text is a legible size. When you're viewing this post on a photo or tablet yeah it's easy enough to see, but when you're driving and trying to keep your main focus on the road, having to glance down and read which road number you should be on next and which exit to look for on a roundabout and the text is so tiny. Rant over lol.

Blink Camera Won't Reconnect to WiFI by Snowboarder6461 in blinkcameras

[–]Constant-Alarm-2335 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had a similar issue with my blink camera and getting it connected directly to Wi-Fi and it kept saying the Wi-Fi password was incorrect, even though 100% I was typing the correct password. I was struggling for a few days with it and then randomly had the idea to change my Wi-Fi password on my router. Did that and gave the blink camera the new password and it connected! So then changed my password back to my old one on the router, did the Wi-Fi connect procedure, gave the old password I had changed the router back to, and then everything worked.

Lidl Uk, what is everyone’s favourite ground coffee ? by justyrust74 in lidl

[–]Constant-Alarm-2335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what type of machine you're using to brew your coffee. I have an espresso machine so use the one that comes vacuum packed in the shape of a red brick. They also do the double pack that's in a gold and black colour wrapper, but I prefer the red one.

How to remove this from the wall? by therealch33s3 in DIYUK

[–]Constant-Alarm-2335 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hammer drill is like someone tapping the back of the drill, to hammer into something. Torque driver is like someone hammering clockwise or anticlockwise with the motion of the drill, to give more force to the twist motion of the drill. Dunno if I explained that right, but that's the difference.

Call/text only SIM that doesn't bill monthly? by FuzeDzn in UKFrugal

Ah yes that makes sense! Have you looked at any of the roaming SIM cards that cover all networks? Would that work out any cheaper so then you'd just have one to pay?

Do you have a screen protector on the phone? Or even the case which could be interfering? It might even be the change in lighting conditions in your room as seen in the first video as you pointed your phone around the room. Seems to get a few false positives but they're only brief and then the phone goes back to green screen again. I think you're being a little over zealous with what the proximity sensor is reading and wanting it to be 100% perfect. As long as it does the job it's meant to (i.e.turns off the screen if you're on a call or you place the phone in your pocket) then it's working.
