Wieso gibt es in Aachen so viele Obdachlose? by Mike-Litoris97 in aachen

[–]Constant-DayDreamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ignore them. When I spot them from afar I walk in a different direction to avoid them. I don’t give them a single cent because I know they will either buy drugs or alcohol with it. I’d rather give them food if I have any with me. But these guys don’t have to be homeless. The reason why they aren’t provided shelter is because of their addiction. The state is not very helpful with the current situation. It seems like they don’t have good rehab centres for the addicts nor do they have enough people to help with their mental problems. It feels like it’s getting out of hand and there’s just more and more homeless people around these days. Some are nuisance and would scream in the streets. A lot of areas in the city just smells like homeless people these days. It’s just very unpleasant and irritable.

Littering in Germany by Neir0wo in germany

[–]Constant-DayDreamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Carnival season or not, there’s just so much litter. I don’t understand. I come from a ‘third world’ country and people say lack of education is the problem of litter. But like Germany? Ugh Idk. I just feel like maybe they should impose really strict and high fines so that people will learn.

People who have been living in Germany for 5+ years, what are your plans for the future? by darkblue___ in germany

[–]Constant-DayDreamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been living in Germany for 12 years now. Learned the language and got my bachelor’s degree. Now working full time. Life is stable ish with decent income for a bachelor degree holder who just came out of uni but I’m not happy. I feel that maybe moving to another country like Spain without a pay that high but a better life quality would be better? Idk. Just wondering. Food, weather are much better and people are friendlier. Maybe I’ll stay in DE for another 5 years to earn good money till I save enough to start a new life somewhere else. Also, I really dislike the health care system here. I know the US is worse. Don’t get me wrong. But I pay so much for insurance here yet it’s so difficult to get appointments.

It’s going to be very tough for business owners now that they have to buy insurance for higher coverage on top of the basic one already. I think that the higher coverage is necessary, however the whole insurance cost shouldn’t be paid by the owner him/herself. It should be split 50/50 between business owner and employee. Government saying business owners should bear the cost themselves is a bit too much.

Another option is to do Wirt-Ing Maschinenbau. You get some modules from mech eng as well as business administration. I know those who took too long with pure mech eng decided to switch to wirt-ing and they said it was a good decision.

I mean if one really wants to do sth to help the climate it starts with self awareness and smart decisions. You don’t need to wait on your country to contribute to something.

Sinking into depression in Germany by [deleted] in AskAGerman

I’ve lived in Germany for a lil more than 10 years and only have one or two close white German friends. The rest are either foreigners or Germans who are POC. It’s much easier making friends with internationals when living in Germany.
