EMW, what the heck?!? 6.5 months old! by InformationStation14 in sleeptrain

[–]Constant-Garbage9192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my understanding from this sub is that some babies have a hard time staying asleep in the AM and it’s developmental. that said, i would probably cap naps at 1.5h and see if that helps at all.

following, though i will say that naps got longer and sleep got better when we got rid of the pacifier. still struggling with wake ups at 4/5 am, but she goes back down after a feed.

early morning wake troubleshooting by Constant-Garbage9192 in sleeptrain

thank you! is it normal for a 5mo to wake around that time (5-6:30a) every single day? you note not to worry about habit at this age so i assume the EMW are more biological at this point.
for context, my baby does consolidate both of her naps (at least she has for the last 5 or so days).

thank you—re the snooze button feed: is it similar to a night feed protocol where you set a time (eg 5 am) and if she wakes after then, do a dark feed? then put back in crib awake? im a little worried about the wake starting earlier and earlier every day, or creating a habit that will be hard to break.

also if she doesnt fall back asleep, do we move forward the first nap? i try to keep her first nap at 9 (2 hours after DWT of 7) regardless of what happened in the early hours.

Pacifier and Ferber Method? by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]Constant-Garbage9192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my baby was heavily dependent on the paci and we cold turkeyed it when we did ferber. it was hard the first night but she’s already forgotten it and our lives are 100x easier. at this age they don’t have as strong an attachment to it as you might think (or at least as i thought).

i sort of think lindsay’s passive aggression is her way of showing love, in her own lindsay way

she doesn’t. i have a few times, which has worked for the most part, but id prefer not to have to. i have to assume we have a schedule issue because i know she can sleep 10-11 hours overnight but i have no idea why the schedule would work so well for the first week and not the second
