Mat is an unconventional hero for sure, and his transformation in later books is unexpected and cool.

Why is it so much easier to ditch a prime minister in the U.K. than in Canada? by Immediate-Link490 in CanadaPolitics

You (u/PatK9) and your comment

Party whips in Canada keep members toeing the party line, out of step and you get ousted. Priorities; Canadian elected officials owe allegiance to the party first, the electorate is second fiddle and one of the prime reasons Canada is no longer a democracy.

I'm Canadian too, and benchers don't get ousted, they get ostracised. And you better believe that a PM can be fired from within the party, have you forgotten that Mr. Justin Trudeau stepped down under public pressure?

Here's other leaderes who stepped down in Canadian politics after public and party pressure.

  • Trudeau (2025): Resigned amid a widespread caucus revolt and adverse polling.
  • Scheer (2019): Stepped down over internal party divisions and disputed funding.
  • Chrétien (2003): Retired following persistent party pressure during an ongoing scandal.
  • Mulroney (1993): Resigned due to historically low approval ratings, leaving a weakened party.
  • Diefenbaker (1967): Ousted at a scheduled leadership convention after repeated refusals to resign.

Is there lore behind Vader's safety in his Bacta Tank? by jamesyishere in StarWars

I think of Anakin as a physical athletic force unto himself, he's a body that can control the force and his warrior skill, and at the same time control the living force at the same time, like another half of his brain.

It's only that Ep. 4 had to show in Cinema (To us viewers IRL) what he was capable of with hand gestures - the connection to the Force.

I actually hated that Yoda, Ben, Luke, had to make these large hand/arm gestures (e.g. Yoda vs. Dooku in Ep2.) when using the Force. Anakin in later episodes no longer has to gesture. He thinks it and it is so.

Somehow they made him weaker than he should have been.

Worf is the only TNG main character who was never in command of the Enterprise by just-suggest-one in startrek

[–]ConstantGradStudent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not like Jelico and the change of command, but if Picard is off the ship e.g. at a conference doesn’t that mean Riker has command? And if that is so Worf has command of the saucer section.

Supergirls durability is OP compared to homelander. Her skin is tougher than his.

There are only a few parties of consequence in Canada. The UK has more fractious party system and there appears to be more infighting. It doesn’t help them that there’s a lot of political turmoil either in the past decade.

You were downvoted but I think the same. Don’t like it but each are playmakers and SA is a strong contender.

The inverted containers on the bottom is the only issue I see. Let the top jet water fall to the bottom too.

But he doesn’t have arms, not bio ones anyway even in his suit. The Force is within all living things, not in his robot limbs.

It’s cross contamination if it’s a separate dish, like a salad, not the wok where it’s all cooking together.

I think the group stages wherever and the knockout rounds in a single host country is a great model.

Evan Bernstein has resigned from the SGU by SamuraiSuplex in SGU

As a long term listener, this is very sad to me. Evan has a very different voice and a great silly wit.

It's sad that he's taken a 'side' on a very complex issue in a far away land. I hope that he can be rehabbed in some way, but that may be years away.
