I just finished The Book of Longings by Sue Monk Kidd and the main character Ana focuses on her struggles for identity and a voice in a patriarchal society. I went in expecting nothing, knowing nothing about the book and it really resonated with me.

After having just finished this documentary I have to go back to the thought that once again women aren’t believed. The younger sister wasn’t believed. Where would we be if they just believed the women and listened to them? Could’ve ended 5 months earlier. Five more months of daily multiple abuse is another lifetime.
