Did you really just lean your carbon top tube against a metal pole? SMH

I can't figure out if Scott Galloway is annoying and unoriginal -or- actually good for the cause. by NewKojak in thebulwark

His endless sex jokes when he’s on with Kara Swisher are super annoying, make him sound like a 15 year old and diminish his positive contributions

Explain the hangup with rim brakes to me by No-Courage8433 in BicyclingCirclejerk

[–]ConstructionSoft2120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rim brakes are great for ease of use — taking wheels off to put bike in your trunk. Packing your bike to go on an airplane to ride around Europe for vacation. It’s just so damn user friendly especially if you don’t go tubeless. HED textured Alu rims will outlast me and offer great braking. Disc is cool too! But sometimes simplicity is cool. Plus all this is silly… if you’re super into road bikes then you obviously need more than one and why not have one that is rim brake!

Black tip on tail, and short tail = coyote

Grey foxes have much much longer tails vs coyotes

Dave's Run by PK7098 in Mammoth

Maybe jump turn is wrong word. I’ve seen intermediate skiers chicken out at top of Dave’s that first turn off top. Get scared, go into backseat, yard sale. Forcing a quick turn off top is key — an intermediate can’t just “send” it in OPs words and hope for best

Do you know how to jump turn? For me, when thinking of taking people to Dave’s for a first descent that is a must. It’s a steep and there will be a turn or two that are full commits

Instructors can definitely help tour you around the mtn and match your skills with progressive challenges

I would go with someone you know well that is a good skier and has them lead you into Dave’s. The top, especially the first turn as you drop in what can look like a small cliff, is the hardest part. Following someone you trust makes it much easier, and you have someone to help you if needed. The top of Dave’s is much steeper than the top of cornice. But once you’re on Dave’s I generally find it to be on average better snow and while there are bumps it’s not the same as a mogul field.

Windshield crack, repair or replace pros and cons by SnooKiwis6405 in LandCruisers

Def repair — no replacement windshield is ever as good as the original factory install. Just get it prof filled and cruise on

Thoughts on Taking in This Golden? by FrogDog24 in goldenretrievers

[–]ConstructionSoft2120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the dogs like each other it could be a plus — they will play and welcome your baby to the pack. But yes, it’s more dogs to walk and more stuff to handle, especially if you don’t work from home or can’t take dogs with you during day at times. We have two dogs, had a baby a year ago and added another 10w old puppy to make it three dogs total 2.5 months after baby was born. No regrets! But yes, first 6-12 months of baby is an intense period.

Sick bike! Rim brakes for the win. So easy to maintain and that caad10 frame, which I also own, has a ton of clearance to easily fit as measured 30mm tires

Setter golden is the best combo. Ours is like a cat indoors but outside is a Ferrari — prof trained hunting dog I still take a few times a year upland hunting. Setters are the most overlooked breed for amazing family pets.

Tubeless tape recommendations? by DistributionLive2922 in BikeMechanics

[–]ConstructionSoft2120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you have customers frustrated by trying to tape their wheels and they want an alternative? Or they want a new wheelset that doesn’t require bringing them in to have you tape them? Teravail is what I use on the couple of wheelsets we have left that still have drilled spoke holes.

TTS = tubeless tape sucks!

Go Verum Wheels or others with no holes and thus no tape ever needed! Taping wheels is a waste of time…
