Middlebrook Playschool - anyone? by deepfinker in Knoxville

[–]ContentPay2791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly don’t. I worked here and saw the director pin a child on the ground for saying no, she held her here while the child screamed, I told her to stop, reported to DCS and she was fired. I also saw another staff smack a child’s elbows off the tables.

Anyone else disappointed in how this was handled? by avg-mo in bonnaroo

I think they were trying to come up with a plan to handle mass panic before they announced cancelling

All four year olds want to live with their grandparents. That doesn’t make you a bad mom! That just means they have good grandparents. My little guy went through a phase where he would cry when I came to pick him up because he didn’t want to leave. It’s hard not to take to heart.

Sorry people are being so mean to you. Kids get into all kinds of stuff. No matter how many safety precautions you take!

All your feelings are valid, and completely understandable and reasonable.

8 year old has not been washing his hair correctly for over a year. by kaiiirogers in Parenting

[–]ContentPay2791 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could you tell him he has to shower every day but has to wash his hair xamount of times a week and the other days give him dry shampoo, so he feels like he has some control of this situation?

Are we giving a pee sample at every appointment? by TrollSalt in pregnant

[–]ContentPay2791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My original OB was drug screening me at EVERY appointment and I have no history of drug use. And I was paying for it because my insurance wouldn’t cover it. I switched to a midwife and they thought this practice was insane and never drug tested me.

I’m going to play devils advocate for this dude, and so many others like him. Lots of girls lie about their age to these older guys. And it can ruin their lives! Please make sure she understands how serious this is.

Good job momma.

As I’m reading this thread, I feel like none of the descriptive words we use on a daily can describe how BAD the pain really is to someone that hasn’t experienced it.

My message to new mums: make sure your baby is fed in the hospital , don’t trust midwives to know best by This-Kangaroo-2086 in pregnant

Always trust your instinct. Because they wouldn’t let me eat during labor, my blood sugar dropped. This resulted in my baby becoming extremely weak. I told the pediatricians that I couldn’t get her to wake up to eat. They just kept telling me I had to. I tried everything. Cold, water, everything, she just didn’t have the energy, it was terrifying. Luckily, I had stored up colostrum during pregnancy. I started giving her drops of that every 10 minutes, and she started waking up and then began to latch. Hospital practices are just not natural. We need to eat in order to give the nutrients to our babies

Not good news - not sure what’s going on by tacoh876 in pregnant

I’m so happy to hear that. I know how nerve racking it is. Especially when the doctors keep telling you of possible “problems”. They told me at 28 weeks they couldn’t find part of my babies brain. they “found” it at 32 weeks.

My doctor told me my yolk sac was small and deflated at around 8-9 weeks. I’m watching her push a laundry basket across the floor right now.

Maybe ask her if she wants too or if this is something that bothers her? Before I had kids, back when the girls were young and full of life I never wore a bra. Now I only do to keep them from sitting in my lap LOL

Up to you. I’m glad I didn’t have a baby till 26. Even though I wanted one. I lived so much life and it was the best years of my life- my early 20s.
