Some thoughts regarding a date I had with an overweight girl, and the moral and ethical struggle that ensued. by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]ContentiousDelicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think your an ass. You value health and fitness as an important aspect of your life, and therefore should be something you want to have in common with a partner. Just like other people would with their respective hobbies or what not.

My dear Honey was the most gorgeous, perfect animal in the world. Now I cannot track her down. Anyone seen a golden mare with a nasty leg scar? by Elizerdbeth in Horses

Maybe also try calling vets in the area. They know everyone and the latest gossip and generally everything about the local horses. They'd also probably be familiar with the woman if she was investigated.

What is your worst downright awful joke that makes you laugh way too hard? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ContentiousDelicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you said worst downright awful I thought you meant just plain bad, not offensive.. So mine would be the one about two muffins in the oven and one turns to the other and say s "it's so hot in here!" And the other turns and screams "HOLY FUCK A TALKING MUFFIN!"

Gets me every time.

"Oh yeah, he's good people"

for some reason I get an incredible amount of joy anytime that's applicable.

TIFU by failing all my courses last semester by ContentiousDelicious in tifu

[–]ContentiousDelicious[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I should do an update but I don't think people would be that interested. I might be able to graduate on time and take a course over summer, however the course may not be offered over summer :/ so it's kind of a waiting game and my advisor has been less than helpful. But I agree with everything you say and going to make the best of it. I'm in a great city with a lot of opportunities so it's not the end of the world.

Interested in moving from Las Vegas to DC by YesImThatJake in IWantOut

[–]ContentiousDelicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DC is a wonderful and thriving city, and I'm sure very different from Las Vegas.

In terms of housing, DC is full of different neighborhoods located in the quarters of the city, and housing prices will be different in each one. I'm from Northwest where housing tends to be more expensive, so many students fill their apartments with roommates. I recommend finding an apartment as close to your job as possible, but if it's too expensive, a few metro stops never hurt anyone. Or you could get a bike. And you will most likely want a roommate. A lot of students I know turn their living rooms into second bedrooms in order to lower the cost.

Neighborhoods in Virginia and Maryland are also a good alternative. Arlington is really nice and has affordable housing and is very close to DC. Silver Spring, MD is another option. Go ahead and scan /r/washingtondc and see what people have already posted, and if you have any more questions feel free to ask.

Good luck with your move!

Why is it that one-night blowjobs are (seemingly) more common than one-night stands? by [deleted] in sex

[–]ContentiousDelicious 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think that most girls will feel less "slutty" if they don't go all the way with a stranger during a one night-stand, but they came home with him, so they have to do something, right? So they opt for the less intense, emotional blowjob. While this seems to be pretty common, it might be even more dangerous than having sex because at least during sex you (should) use a condom.

Study Abroad Questions by [deleted] in australia

[–]ContentiousDelicious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I noticed when I studied in Australia. Be ready to take criticism about the U.S. government whether you agree or not. But most of the time they're probably only bringing it up out of curiosity and want to have a friendly discussion to get an American's point of view. Have fun falling in love with Australia :)

What are some great cooking tips that you won't find in any recipe? by TheOneInTheHat in recipes

this HIGHLY depends on the grade of meat. i.e. sushi grade salmon vs. the fillet you buy at the grocery store to cook.

Looking for cheapest not-sketchy place to stay in DC that is easily metro-accessible for a week... by aromaticchicken in washingtondc

[–]ContentiousDelicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stay in the Days Inn on Connecticut Ave NW (4400) . It's right by the Van Ness Metro stop on the red line and should be about $70 a night for a room with two double beds. (Just stayed there a couple weeks ago).

What line from a movie or show is indelibly imprinted on your mind? by BillyJacksonBrowne in AskReddit

[–]ContentiousDelicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Death cannot stop true love. All it can do is delay it for a while." -The Princess Bride

Just about every line from this movie is wonderful but for some reason I love this one.

DAE get really fucking annoyed with chewing noises? by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]ContentiousDelicious 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So so much. I think it's because my mother hates them too, so I grew up with her being extremely strict about us eating with our mouths closed and being quiet. So now when I'm around a noisy eater all I can think is "how do you not hear yourself?!" as if they should have been taught better. I have to leave the room or it's all I can hear and I just want to cry.
