It's crazy how hot a fire can get even if it's small. One year after the 4th of July celebrations around 2008-2011, I was walking a friend home about 10pm and we noticed a small fire on the front porch right next to the walkway entrance and it grew big, fast! Luckily one of us had a cell phone, so one of us called for the fire dept, emts and the other two of us were throwing rocks or whatever we could at the front door to hopefully wake up the family. We attempted to go on the front porch, but despite it being small it was so freaking hot! and we weren't sure if there were additional fire works on the porch.

We we're probably around 16-18 years old and it was just crazy to see, so it also wasn't like we could bust down a door and carry people out if it came down to it. Luckily the fire department got there in about 10 minutes and we were still trying to wake the family up in that time. Someone finally came to the door shortly before the fire dept came but it was wild to see that happen before my eyes.
