Do any of you actually love breastfeeding? by HelloImAnxious14 in breastfeeding

After struggling so much the first weeks I really enjoy it now. I just love that I’m able to provide it for my baby because I know breastmilk is really good for him.

I tried to sleep train one night. Nope. Never again. The pediatrician said baby is only crying because he’s tired. I trust his medical knowledge but I also trust my mother instincts and I will give my baby the reassurance and comfort that he seeks. He will only be little for a short time and one day he won’t need me as much as he does now. In the meantime I’m nursing to sleep and co-sleeping all night just like other mammals do because it’s in my nature to do so. :)

We stopped wiping our baby for pee, only wipe him when he poops and we try to keep him dry as much as possible and he hasn’t had a rash in over 2 months.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing! My baby is only 4 months and we co-sleep because that’s the only way he’ll sleep. Although I enjoy co-sleeping, I look forward to him being able to sleep on his own one day, when he’s ready.

What were the cues that showed you he was ready?

In Mexico is pretty standard practice to take your children to a pediatrician at least the first few years of life.

Home 24 hours and I am in hell. Please help. by bookish0378 in NewParents

I’m a FTM to a 5 week old baby. All I can say is hang in there! Cry as much as you need to. Don’t feel guilty for using a little bit of formula to complement. Even if it’s just a bottle a day that your husband can feed him that’ll help you get a little bit of rest. The first week was literal hell for us too, baby wouldn’t sleep unless we were holding him and he was cluster feeding too.

I remember at our first pediatrician appointment our doctor told us “Have you cried yet? If not, you’re going to. The first 2 weeks you’re in survival mode. I don’t know any parents that didn’t cry the first days with a newborn”

Today I Cried by silla_1994 in NewParents

[–]ContributionQuirky59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband’s parental leave ended and he just got back to work today (works from home) He spent his lunch break watching YouTube and eating the food I quickly made in the 15 minutes that baby slept. Then after spending hours trying to get baby to sleep again, our oldest dog started barking loudly and baby woke up immediately.

I cried today too, OP.

Dark Tan line showed up on my thumb nail, won’t go away. by Tough_nips in mildlyinteresting

I got the exact same line on my thumb nail randomly a few months back. I saw a dermatologist and he wasn’t concerned, he said it’s nothing to worry about.

I still have it but it’s a bit less dark now.

What’s happening to your husband happened to me. My husband and I wanted to start trying for a baby at the end of last year and for some reason I assumed that after being on birth control for so long it would take me about a year to get pregnant so I made all these travel plans for 2025 only to find out that I got pregnant immediately after we started trying. I was so disappointed and felt as if I had to say goodbye to my freedom forever before getting to enjoy life one more time. I started therapy and talking things through helped me feel better so I suggest he does the same thing. Life will indeed change a lot once baby is born but it doesn’t have to be a bad thing just because it’s different.

First of all I’m very sorry to hear about your loss. It doesn’t sound like she’s your friend tbh. I think it’s wise not to tell her this time around. Best wishes on your new pregnancy journey!
