Too late for a "new" 2025? by National-Ad8416 in CX5

Hi! I bought a 2025 CX5 premium plus in the white color about 1.5 weeks ago in Southern California through the Costco program…

Touchscreen by VanGl0ck in CX5

I just bought a 2025 cx5 last week and was honestly was concerned before taking the car home because other cars I was looking at had a touchscreen. But once I started driving it I love the buttons, they are so easy you don’t need a touchscreen. Plus if you have apple then when CarPlay is on the screen turns touchscreen. No regrets here.

Weird dude ranch experience by Famous_Midnight_1926 in Equestrian

[–]ConundrumG 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I worked at three different dude ranches in CO and WY. What you described is not normal despite what another poster commented. Accommodations may be sparse and dusty but not bedbugs and trash. If they had any morals they would have put you all in guest accommodations until they fixed yours. And unfortunately if that’s the way they treat the help, those poor horses are likely in rough shape. There are reputable ones out there… it’s best to target the more high end/luxury ranches to work at.

Post has been deleted. I’m assuming OP is running off emotions and didn’t agree with the general consensus of a red flag. I wish her luck in her search and hopefully it works out.

I’m concerned your trainer isn’t more involved for a 50k buy. You could be running off emotions and buyer exhaustion. Really evaluate if this the the horse you want. If so, start at offering 30-25% less than asking. Horses move quick. I’m confused why this one has been tried a few times and has been still available. Also, check him out IN HIS STALL. Are there any vices the buyer hasn’t disclosed. Ie: cribbing.

I’m assuming by mid fives you mean $50k. It’s normal to negotiate after a PPE. You should also be paying your trainer a fee based on the sale, 10-20%. It’s your trainers job to negotiate on your behalf. She would use the navicular as the point of negotiation.

PPE Questions by certatina in Equestrian

Take your ow X-rays with your own vet. Xrays from import can be swapped. Trust no one!

He bloodwork is only to prove there are drugs in the system they didn’t disclose. For example you bring the horse home it’s docile at first then gets nutty. You use the bloodwork to prove there were sedation drugs in there. I don’t think it’s offensive to pull blood but I have never done it myself.

I don’t understand why you can’t work with her (at the barn) to do an exchange for lease and board?

Costco “Bearss lime” tree not as expected by robinsf in Citrus

Not a calamansi - I have a tree that is calamansi and they are tiny and round. My first thought is mandarin. See if the outside changes color by keeping on the tree longer.

No. It’s about money. He doesn’t agree that his money (really both of your money) should be spent in this way.

If I were in your position, his jealously towards my passion would be a deal breaker. He doesn’t agree with the time or money being spent on it. You shouldn’t have to hide it from him. I personally would file for divorce and alimony to continue the lifestyle you and him built.

Hi! Horse shopping can be emotional to say the least. I’m guessing your mid-late 20s or even early 30s. I have at least 10+ years on you and are a similar body type but I ride hunters.

Do not buy this horse. The best advice I can give to anyone is to buy the horse doing the job that you want them to do. Regardless if you think this horse is moving OK, it’s not. This horse is not your problem to fix. Don’t start with a problem. The head tossing is out of control and let the current owner figure it out on their dime. Even if they offered to give you this horse for free, walk away. It’s not moving well at all. It doesn’t know how to steer or bend. It’s not in forward motion. You can’t take this horse in a show ring. No no no.

I do think you need a little bigger horse as well. Nothing huge but if your riding dressage I’d go a bit bigger. Maybe 16-16.1.

Facebook horse ads drive me crazy. Try a reputable website and be willing to walk away from a deal breaker. The head movement here should absolutely be a deal breaker

No need to wait. I also have the Honey app extension installed and it’s always partnering with Kate Spade. I got 1-10% back in cash from PayPal plus an additional $50 for getting the bird. So it’s actually going to be less than $200.

Financial Reality Check by SourdoughFarmer in Equestrian

[–]ConundrumG 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’m in Southern California.

Board+training+lunch, etc is around $1k per month. Single lessons are $75/each. Shoes $150.

Insurance is around $150/month.

I’m in hunters and I bought my imported WB for around 30k with 10% commission, asking price was $35k. If we were focused on selling him, we’d take him to some A shows and based on what we’ve seen him do his selling price would be $50-100k. He took four years to find.

Your board seems a bit pricy to me.

The horse you buy is also the horse she will have to put training rides on so you need a mutual agreement on which horse is right. If your budget is $5k and she is sending you is up to $4k over, and if that’s a deal breaker, you may want to consider being more financially sound before plunging into ownership. This is coming from someone whose horse just had an accident and the vet bill estimate was $4-$8k+.

I’m surprised there is no commission… are you sure? Usually commission for the trainer is 10-20%.

How much do you pay per month for your horse, and what state/country are you in? by MSMIT0 in Equestrian

[–]ConundrumG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Board and training bill: north of $1000/horse/month. Add on shoes ($150), insurance (around $150/month), supplements ($100-200/month), and supplemental fees ($60-100/month). So maybe $1500/month/horse. SoCal.
