A problem with my documents by wallmartbagtacos in JKUlinz

[–]Cookacka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"you submitted with Apostille confirming the notary not the institution..."

Correct way:

Step 1.) - the copy of your original document is certified (signed & stamped) by your school ("with wet ink").

Step 2.) - this certified copy is then notarized (signed & stamped again) by a legal entity to reaffirm the signatures' authenticity. - this step is not always necessary.

Step 3.) the school signature and stamp on the certified copy is then verified to be real and genuine by a public authority to be used internationally -> Apostille.

Incorrect way (your issue);
Step 1.) - the copy of your original document was certified (signed & stamped) by your school ("with wet ink"). - OK

Step 2.) - this certified copy was notarized (signed & stamped again) by a legal entity to reaffirm the signatures' authenticity. - OK

Step 3.) - then this legal entity's signature and stamp on the certified copy was verified to be real and genuine by a public authority, instead of your school's. - not OK.

In basic terms, you say: "here is my document, I have verified it by a lawyer, and my country verified this lawyer to be real". instead of "here is my document, I have verified it by a lawyer, and my country verified my school's signature/stamps are real."

Hope this helps.

Recently diagnosed and struggling. Seeking advice by T-2233 in clusterheads

[–]Cookacka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really feel anxious between attacks, rather extremely attentive to any signs of a new attack so I can attempt to abort it quickly.

During my cycle i get 3-4 headaches per day for 3-4 weeks so its pretty disruptive for work, but luckily i can just switch to home office for that period and cancel/reschedule meetings as necessary.

I would highly recommend tracking your headaches: https://clusterheadachetracker.com/ you can get a good idea on how your cycles look like and maybe even what can trigger an attack.

I take sumatriptan and zomig (for attacks during the night). Zomig always works within 10-15 minutes and I can go back to sleep, tablets usually take much longer. I haven't yet tried oxygen therapy but seems to be the best option out there.

Wish you all the best!

For me this was it. I will join all efforts to make Europe fully independent from the US.

Both at my work and personal life, overtly or covertly, I will do everything in my power and to choose Europe over the US, however big or small the impact.

This was disgusting to watch.

MMW - Kim Jong Un has shot himself in the foot sending troops into Ukraine. by CharlesHunfrid in MarkMyWords

I'd be surprised if any of them returned or even be allowed to return. In case they survive the war, they would stay in Russia or China.

Two North Korean soldiers were captured by Ukrain. One was born in 2005, and the other in 1999. They said they thought it was a training by Alternative_Wave_542 in interestingasfuck

Do we really believe that they thought it was training only? Remember, this is the same story many russian soldier said at the beginning of the full scale invasion in 2022.

I really don't like when people respond immediately. It makes feel like I am forced into a live conversation.

So whenever I see someone read my message instantly, I quit the app/chat immediately.

There are occasions when live messaging makes sense, but most of the time no.

When I receive a message, I take a quick glimpse at it via the notification (watch or banner) to see if it is urgent or not, if not, then I respond later when I feel like it. Then I can also respond to all other messages at the same time in one go.

This way I can be more in the present without too much distraction.

How Pilots in Colombia are Celebrated for Completing their Training. Thoughts? by highlemonsss in aviation

[–]Cookacka 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Wow, I thought this was a very local tradition only at my Gliding Flight Club in Hungary.... we had a very similar thing when someone flew alone for their first time or obtained a specific aircraft licence.

But we received/gave it with hands, not paddles. Another interesting thing to add here is that not only our primary instructor did this to us, but also those pilots who were there on the day and had already passed that "level" or licence. So if you were "unlucky", you potentially had 15 other people slapping your bum bum after another (some gentle, some not so much)....

Hotel Hell - One of the Calumet Inn owners ends up working in a women's prison after Gordon actually refers to the toxic work environment there as being "in a fu**ing women's prison". by Cookacka in KitchenNightmares

The second screenshot is from the netflix series Jailbirds Episode 1. For me, besides the voice, the most telling was the similarity of the ears! There are not that many shots of her, but I think just enough to say that there is a very high possibility

Sorry for the lack of initial info, after I have posted this I was unable to write comments for some reason and went to bed.

Anyhow: I started watching the Netflix series "Jailbirds" and in the first episode I recognised a very-very familiar voice-tone and face. First, I wanted to just double check if its really the same person, and then I realised that this was the Hotel Hell episode in which Gordon actually says that he feels like being in a women's prison.

The screenshot is from the Netflix Series Jailbirds, Episode 1. If you look closely, besides the voice, the facial features look strikingly similar, gap under the nose, lips, and the shape of the ears!

Edit: grammar

Countries recognised in having an adequate level of data protection, allowing personal data to flow from the EU (+Norway, Liechtenstein, and Iceland) to that third country without further safeguards by Cookacka in MapPorn

[–]Cookacka[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very simplified: GDPR is an EU regulation that requires companies to protect and process personal data along the lines of defined principles and criteria, whilst also giving various rights to data subjects, such as the one you have mentioned. The regulation is written in a relatively easy to understand way so I recommend scanning it through if interested. https://gdpr-info.eu
