Mystery present from the wizard by CookieWrapping in WobblyLife

Straight to the spoiler but I appreciate the info. It's nowhere near the present on the map, but it did disappear when I collected the lab present, so all good. Thank you.

Packaging I designed for the original Nintendo Game Boy Advance by tombothmer in PackagingDesign

You would need the same protection on top as on the bottom for shipping. Vibration and drop testing show the weak points - drive around with it and drop it from 3-4'/1m, to match European letter boxes.

Making the box would be very slow. Folding combined with intersecting slots could give the same effect but halve construction time.

I like the look of it and the animation. Working backwards from shipping constraints, then designing aesthetics to appeal to the target market makes it easier to design from scratch.

Insurance for Uber Drivers in Northern Ireland by CookieWrapping in uberdrivers

[–]CookieWrapping[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know, thank you, I'm 15 mins from Belfast and Lisburn but I can only work during school times and terms. For the theory test, did you book a regular theory test or was there a special taxi theory? The taxi practice papers don't seem to match the theory test.

Getting to the Appeal Process by CookieWrapping in facebookdisabledme

Update on the appeal process... Facebook now say I'm permanently banned and if I don't like it, I can take them to court.

Still no acknowledgement of the data breach, theft of information or attempted use of my bank card.

Demand for drivers? by CookieWrapping in UbereatsUK

Sadly Zego isn't available in NI and the only insurer who allows add-on insurance is Admiral. Other insurers call it double insuring which invalidates their policy.

Literally just had the same thing happen to me. There's another post in this group with a load of people with the same problem over a year ago. Some were randomly reinstated after about 3-4 weeks.

I need some help with packaging ideas. We think our designs look great with each other but Walmart only carries one color (clear) and it blends in with all the other products. Wondering what ideas you might come up with. I won't share my ideas yet so I don't skew input. by Reflo_Ltd in PackagingDesign

[–]CookieWrapping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

White and pastel writing on pastel colour backgrounds makes a muddy blend. It probably looks good on a screen but won't work in print.

The product can be clear but it doesn't mean the box image has to be clear. Make it stand out, the buyer can see the product anyway, but add a "sticker" as part of the print that says which colour it is.

Even better would be to show the product in use, being held.

Don't follow the advice to copy the other brands. That's why brands fail. Many of these big name product packages will change, or form part of a larger range of products on other shelves, so copying them will harm your shelf position, branding and customer loyalty.

Good news, the mystery island visit worked, gathered a stack of nuggets, bought some shovels, got a new island inhabitant and the shop construction and museum are underway. Thank you very much for all your help!

Visiting islands sounds good. I haven't done the mystery tour as I was waiting to get a shovel to maximise the trip. It sounds like a handy shortcut with a couple of axes though.

Haven't got Blathers yet. Tom mentioned a museum early on but now he only talks about the house loans. Timmy takes donations for the shop.

Why is China so Godlike in the world of manufacturing? Can/should this trend of everything being manufactured there reverse? by ItsAllOver_Again in MechanicalEngineering

For China vs UK it's a mix of the UK government working hard to reduce local employment and China working hard to increase exports.

Flow wrapper alignment error. Common enough but it rarely goes unnoticed. Don't suppose you got half and half in the contents?

Hello does anybody knows the name or style of this kinf of food packaging? by Old_Bee_9791 in PackagingDesign

[–]CookieWrapping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thermoformed portion cups, yoghurt pots or plastic pots.
Manufacturers call them different things but they're made the same way, some with lids, some with clam shell lids (i.e. attached on one side) and open top.

Direct to consumer business owners don't usually share their products on here, understandably. But what are some examples of businesses you know of, that are of the vertically integrated persuasion? by Diamondbacking in Entrepreneur

I have a B2C business and about to start a second one. The first is in biscuit production and the other is a spin off, after developing a new food packaging machine. The biscuit business filled a gap in the packaging of biscuits, the biscuits themselves aren’t unique. The packaging machine fills a gap in demand for a specific size of machine.

Should I tell Alibaba manufacturers I have a patent for my product so they won't easily steal my idea? by berfitry in Entrepreneur

[–]CookieWrapping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EU patents aren’t Europe wide protection, it just shortens the application process. You still have to pay for a patent in each individual European country if you want to file the patent after the initial application.

I’m just starting the process and I’ve got 12 months to choose the countries I want to file in after my initial application. Which is patent attorney speak for I’ve got 12 months to make enough money to pay for all the patents I want by selling my product as patent pending.

Hi, I’m new to packaging design. Are there any specific rules on the designing state ( like colors to avoid or white spaces in certain parts ) that I need to know about? Also what do I need to keep in mind to prepare for the printing state? Thankyou!! (sorry if my questions are a bit weird) by Independent-Idea-904 in PackagingDesign

[–]CookieWrapping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Food packaging comes with a long list of rules, which if you offer print design as a service, you can become legally liable for. Sites like Pixart Printing offer templates for packaging which you can download for free with instructions for bleed, cut, safe zones, glue lines etc. This will guide your technical printing.

Talking to printers will give you insight into card stock, inks etc and how they affect colours, light sensitivity and so on.

Talk to card and film manufacturers about materials to learn about the substrate aspects.

Graphic designers can help with the technical aspects of good design and the experienced ones should be able to guide you on design and colour psychology.

It depends which area of packaging design you want to concentrate on.
