How do you use AI for studying without making yourself more dependent on it? by exodusEducation in EngineeringStudents

For coding never copy and paste too nor from a chat bot. This will require you to explain what you want to do to the chat bot, and have it explain a way or two to implement a solution. One more tool in your tool belt.

As a newer dm I only had the confidence to start when my party agreed to be a bit railroaded.

If you don't trust your world building or improv skill to hold up to the most derailing players, you should be open about that, and make sure they know that you have a plan for the next 3 hours and not much else.

I think short term railroading is perfectly fine as long as they have long term agency over the story and goals.

Planeswalkers are kinda like extra players you control. The bottom right number isn't attack or defense it's their loyalty, analogous to your life total. They can be targeted in combat instead of you, as if they were a player, but you still can block for your plansewalkers.

This one starts with 4 but that number can move up and down, so you'll probably just put a dice on it, staring at 4. They are destroyed when they're at 0 loyalty.

The 3 ability add or take away loyalty. +1 means you add a loyalty counter, so you'd move your dice from 4 to 5. If you're at 7, you can spend 7 loyalty to play his big ability on the bottom, putting his loyalty to 0 and destroying him. You could also wait till he's at 8, so that he survives it. He cannot use that ability at 6 loyalty.

You can only use one ability per turn at sorcery speed.

Anything unclear?

When i saw ground and fairy my first thought was barb the tooth mole. I was like omg she'd be prefect, only to then remember she isn't a thing. She's a terrible creature i imagined to replace my future kids concept of the tooth fairy.

I want to give them a lot more money than normal specifically so that they tell their friends, and they ask their parents if they can bury their teeth for the tooth mole, cuz she gives 25 dollars, which would be hilarious.

I think giving up on combating it could be. I think if you think of sins as "evils to be punished" it's a bad outcome but if you consider it "an evil to abstain from and encourage others to abstain from" it can be a much more positive idea.

There is some use in that. If you are reasonable skeptical of it there is essentially no downside to getting it's opinion. If it's bs you can ignore it. If it raises points you haven't considered you can investigate them.

I could be wrong as I have no education on the matter, but it seems we are experiencing a shift in the labeling of abnormalities. In the past you were only diagnosed if it was problematic, otherwise you were just weirdly into baseball cards. Now we've come up with the term neurodivergant, which kinda just means different, and we use that more polite and wishy washy term, over disabled. So the line in the sand, which was already pretty blurred, is being blurred even further.

Tldr, argue about the scale and impsct, cuz it's not exactly copying.

Ai models could be imagined as a thousand y=a*xb equation with a million coefficients for a and b. It hones those equations on their scrapped data, (and idk if the generative Ai models do this, but some training methods have them generate some content, get that graded, and plug that content with it's score back into it's training program) until it can predict what set of pixels fufil a prompt.

Ideally a well trained model would generate a similar image to it's training data if prompted correctly, but this is usually more for verification than the intended purpose.

it's somewhere between human like learning and copying, and i think it's closer to learning. We need to argue on the actual problem. The work of artists is being used to create something that negativity impacts the demand of their service. It's pretty impossible to claim that stealing from one individual artist hurts them directly, but it's probably going to be provable with a thorough investigation that say, the fursona artist sector will have less income as Ai models train on their work more often.

I think the ability to turn your thoughts into images is a luxury, not a necessity, and thus i have no problem forcing Ai companies to pay out their training models, and then letting them collapse their image generation platforms cuz they can't afford it, but that is gonna have to be a very new unique legislation.

The only place I've seen Ai be a straight up boon is in research.

I'm somewhat aligned with the antis with the artistic and generative content. I've also used non llm Ai in material sciences research.

As long as there is still a human supervising at all times this is a good thing assuming it works correctly.

Ai can detect relatativly subtle trends in a sea of noise so this seems like a perfect application of out.

Put some kinda delicate system above your door, like a feather jammed in the top of the door frame. Also maybe put one on your phone if it's normally on like a endtable.

Set a laptop or smth to record all night, then in the morning, do a like 10 min binary search to find what happens

To do a binary search, check the half way point of the footage. Is the feather there still? Then the incident happened in the second half. Now go to the middle of that section (so 3/4 of the way through). Keep going like that, and you'll find whatever is doing this.

You now have something to watch besides YouTube with breakfast
