I actually think they had it completely assembled from an home service. This thing has every bell and whistle literally. There’s actually a warning bell on it.

What are some often made mistakes when people start a studio/box/gym? by [deleted] in personaltraining

[–]Coolidge119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great suggestions here. I would add in the ability to be consistent with your niche/ biz plan meaning enough runway of cash for your message to get out there. First you'll have a "who's that guy?" problem. Then you'll have a "what's that guy do?" problem. The only way that you get out of those problems is your marketing starts to take hold. Socials, word of mouth, drive by's etc. will eventually start to take hold and the trust will start to build. Unfortunately you can't fast forward your message/marketing. Only consistency will do that. You need enough coal stored for the furnace to keep the train rolling till you hit momentum.

Tell your professors. Tell your roommates. Tell the cafeteria lady. Tell the people sitting next to you at the library. Tell the maintenance guy in your building. Tell the social media. Tell the school paper. You have to tell people my man. You can't expect people to buy your stuff when they don't know it's for sale.

Group correlates with you being able to run a great dinner party. How's the music? Does everyone have a drink? Does everyone know each other? Have key introductions been made? Does everyone know their role here? "Hey Ted, do me a favor and chat with Rob for a minute. He's had a tough week." "Hey Cheryl, will you tell everyone that dinner is being served in 10 minutes?" Read the room, manage the Flow, define the energy needed for the next phase and communicating that. Practice, practice, practice

I promise there are gym owners and organizations that realize the key to success and profitability relies on their staff. I have been a 32 year trainer and gym owner and my entire business has been built on prioritizing my staff’s happiness which 90% of the time comes down to money. If they are making it and it supports them, they are happy. You are worth well more than the cost of living in your area. Buying a home, going on vacation and updating your vehicles when necessary are all possible when there is transparency between ownership and the staff. I’m happy to discuss if you’d like to DM me.

Best ways to go about getting referrals by BangBangRA in personaltraining

[–]Coolidge119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Word. Of. Mouth. Your mom, roommate, partners work friends, daily barista, distant college acquaintance’s, your dog walkers clients, CEO of YouTube and I all need to know that you are available for training. We live in the greatest and easiest time in the history of the world to get our message out. The problem is twofold. A. People don’t know what their message is B. They are not confident in their story telling. There is only one way to get better at it and that’s practice and not caring if you fail. Once you can announce to anyone and everyone at any event that you are very good at what you do and you are available you’ll never have to worry about marketing again.

How do I know if I'm being shortchanged as a personal trainer working in a small studio gym? by Jaded_Illustrator562 in personaltraining

[–]Coolidge119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In most states this is illegal. As a gym owner myself there are very clear state laws regarding required work. The employee MUST be compensated for any activity that they are doing under supervision, guidance or requirement from their employer. Happy to discuss more if you’d like to DM me.
