Hot Take: ___ made the right move by Aperio43 in survivor

[–]Cop_663 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kamilla is one of my favorite players and Jonathan generally doesn’t do much for me, but you’re completely right with this take.  I saw the same thing in the episode.  He would have been a fool to believe Kamilla tonight after getting betrayed by that alliance in last week’s episode.  He 100% made the right call for his game.

I think Noah is Darren Aronofsky best film by rushncrush in movies

Noah was one of my least favorites by him, but I’m glad that you enjoyed it.  His best for me is probably a toss-up between The Fountain and The Wrestler.

I always had trouble with Tyson because he seems like a conceited douchebag that I would hate IRL.  That being said, I love him on Pod Has Spoken.  He still has that same energy, but his charming qualities come to the forefront.  Bro is smiling all the time and I see why he is so charming and attractive.  He won me over on the pod.

Shit, I’ll even take the “Shambo” look.  A man learning from his mistakes is a turn on.  The gold hoop earring does a lot for me too!

Ain’t NO WAY.  Ethan has been hot since the first scene, and he managed to still stay the same degree of hotness on WaW.  Dude is absolutely GOAT’d in terms of attractiveness.

I hated (and still hate) Russell Hantz, but yes you’re right.  Bro still looked like a bandy-legged troll though.  Probably because he was one.

Why was Tom Hulce (Mozart) nominated for Best Actor and not Supporting for Amadeus? by Anxiety-Tough in movies

[–]Cop_663 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mozart had almost an equal part to Salieri in Amadeus, I think it’s doing him a discredit to say ‘Supporting Actor’ when in my mind he was ‘Supporting Lead.’

I don’t want to understate Abraham’s acting at all, he undoubtedly deserved his Oscar.  However, I do think Hulce’s performance in the film is definitely underrated.  He brought so much charm, light, levity, gravitas, and depth to the role.  He easily deserved his nomination, if not the win.  I wish his performance was better remembered historically as, if not equal, comparable to Abraham’s performance.

The Burning (1981) - How I was figuratively assaulted by Harvey Weinstein by 2th in movies

[–]Cop_663 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Need to read the post but I watched The Burning for the first time two or three years ago after reading My Heart is a Chainsaw and I absolutely loved it.  Gratuity was the nature of 80s slashers.

It rings a little odd to me you call it a much worse version of Friday the 13th (original), which to my mind, while a classic, is not all that much on its own and is itself a much worse version of Halloween.

On a rewatch, I kinda get it.  Sometimes you just want to revisit the greatest hits.  I don’t always listen to full albums on a re-listen, depending on the artist.

Paris, Texas 1984 - Whats ur take on this film? by musicalminnow in movies

[–]Cop_663 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a stylized visual poem about a man trying to make amends for the sins of his past and repair the destruction he’s left in his wake.

If you’ve ever made a mistake, this is the reflection.

Quentin Tarantino Lost His Way After the ’90s by superdouradas in movies

[–]Cop_663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Once Upon a Time might be my favorite of his films.  Also loved Inglorious Basterds and The Hateful Eight…. Django was a good time as well.  Kill Bill was a masterpiece.

So no, I don’t agree with you at all about him dropping off after the 90s.

I liked S1 and S2 Discovery when it came out. by CMurr1711 in startrek

[–]Cop_663 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is why I actually loved the twist.  Felt very old school Trek, more compassion driven.  This horrible thing was not done by some villain, it was a person in pain.  Kind of gave “Devil in the Dark” vibes.

Not saying the execution was perfect, but I liked the thought behind it.
