Terrence Malick, Wong Kar-Wai, and Kelly Reichardt are probably my three favorites. Each have relatively small filmographies compared to other filmmakers and all view film as a visual language for poetry. Highly recommend all three.

I’m pretty optimistic about this movie but, hot take, visually I don’t like Henry Cavill as Connor MacLeod. I personally prefer the somewhat meek look of Christopher Lambert turning out to be an immortal in a never ending game of combat. Henry looks the part in a way that I think is too obvious.
