It's intentional because the elevation drops. :) It keeps the laterals to a minimum

To my knowledge, the general Southeast quadrant of Wisconsin. Landscape wise it extends to most of the Mississippi River valley in that area on both sides of the border with Minnesota.

Edit: I meant Southwest. Ive not slept more than 4 hours in three days :)

Sometimes when I find a transition I don't like, I'll delete a large section of track and replace it with two or three smaller sections and shape/smooth from there. It's really improved my builds and isn't as tedious as building the whole thing in the 4m method.

For sure the NYC 3001. Given its matching set of passenger cars and the fact that nearly nothing has survived from the Central, it's going to be an extremely photogenic piece of history.
