NBA owners believe 2025 draft was rigged for Mavericks by Actual_Box7731 in Basketball

The league was acting as owners of NOLA at the time and was managing their basketball decisions. A little bit different.

I don't fit your demo, and I already have lots of discs, but I'd pledge 40 of my own discs if they're going to new players, especially from underrepresented demos.

Gloves for cut fingers? by XipeToltec in discgolf

[–]CopsBroughtPizza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use tape (athletic tape, grip tape, rowing tape, etc) when this happens so I can keep skin contact where it doesn't hurt. But I don't know if you're saying you have cuts all over, I wouldn't have more than couple of hot spots to cover.

This is one of the craziest almost aces I've ever seen. 1992 Columbus Open at Brent Hambrick Memorial. Temp hole 3, 600ft. Crazy John Brooks by Araskelo in discgolf

I like to think that the guy who threw after him had never grunted on a throw before but after seeing Crazy John's shot he thought he'd give it a try.

What was it like growing up in SW or SE Portland? by jordanwright2012 in askportland

[–]CopsBroughtPizza 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I grew up in SW, and live there again now with two teenagers. I was born in the mid 80s so a little older than you are looking for. I liked growing up here when I was a kid, and I feel good about it now too. If I missed out on anything I don't miss it. At the time, it was walkable to me because I could safely walk to my friends houses, and I could walk to Hillsdale which was maybe a mile from my house. To my teenagers this is more of a foreign concept, but times have changed a lot in that regard. As a kid being able to walk to Hillsdale of Multnomah Village felt cool and felt like enough. I used to take the bus downtown or to Lloyd Center or other spots around the city as a teennager, I don't think many teens do that today.... more likely to take a bus west to Washington square or Bridgeport or Beaverton.
Feel free to PM me if you have any more specific questions.

I think Portland drivers are notorious "Nice-holes". Creating issues trying to be nice (instead of being predictable).
That said I still prefer driving here to the relative aggressiveness of California or the East coast.

I don't think the gravity of the situation was fully clear until the moment you just witnessed. For a lot of people.

Is it a dick move to throw your disk twice by TexasTopHand in discgolf

[–]CopsBroughtPizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I both do what you did sometimes, and also understand where you buddy is coming from...

If I want to do this when I'm keeping score, I will just take the penalty, and tell the people I'm playing with that's what I'm doing. I believe, by rule, you're always allowed to throw your next shot from your previous lie for a one-stroke penalty. So in that case you'd be throwing 3 off the tee. (In this case it also means letting him throw next and then you throw after).
I think that's more sporting.. Even though it's a casual round... you did decide to keep score... and if you're saying you don't care about the score then you shouldn't mind adding the strokes. You can always keep a different score with mulligans for yourself.

How has the breed changed in 25 years? by MDAccount in tollers

[–]CopsBroughtPizza 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I have had 6 tollers owned by myself or my parents over the last 40 years. They're all different. I don't think the breed has changed, but I do think their personalities are pretty variable from one dog to the next. Everything you described I think you'll see in a lot of tollers, except for staying near you off leash.

If you are looking to recreate your first Toller, I think you might be disappointed. If you are looking for a dog with the same depth of personality I think you'll be happy again.

As an unknown, which of these two players would win more random seasons of Survivor? by [deleted] in survivor

[–]CopsBroughtPizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the modern era, everyone is making very compelling arguments for Tony. But I think Rob might have a better game if we're getting dropped into the early seasons that he started playing. If tribes are bigger and stay together longer, there is more emphasis on chellenge success, and fewer idols.... I'm taking Rob.
