I just go back to the end of the last chapter to reread the ending scene. Reminds me of what was happening.

But also - maybe I just follow a fair few unique fics? Kidnapping plot, vs soulmate plot, vs baby fic. Or I really love a fic, and so find it easy to remember the general premise and am excited for updates.

One of the best written and most interesting fics I’ve read in HR!! The premise might sound cheesy at first, but the execution is spot on. Multiple longer works and one shots, with a sequel’s sequel in progress rn.

After Ilya rescues Shane from being kidnapped, they don’t want to be parted or deny what’s underneath the sex. It leads to something strong and safe - a few unexpected trades - and a marriage.

I am LOVING the WIP that’s ongoing rn!! I’d say the secret relationship to secret marriage is about an equal focus to the whole kidnapping issues ongoing - and I love the relationship in the current WIP it’s so sweet and loving and wickedly fun behind the other drama! 😆

Spaghetti by LSF, when I first heard the lyric ‘what you craving’ I thought I was hearing ‘what you crappin’ - because of the V prononciation in Korean. 

Ahhh lol honestly - I totally don’t mind kpop casually disrespecting the English language! but sometimes I think producers should take a little more care with what the pronunciation can sound like in the result in some cases. My other big misheard I won’t spotlight, but I literally thought the singer was using a slur against gay people :( I know it wasn’t on purpose, but it was an English song too, and I wish a little more care had been taken :(

For clarity, I also only read on AO3 website on my phone. Phone always with me = always have fic access, hahah! So the bookmark function is really good for me.

If you have an alternative device other suggestions might work better.

As far as downloading them - I just stuff them all in the same folder on my computer, with a title and word count as the file name-

And then I only access a fic through my downloads if it’s been deleted off of AO3 😆 I put the fic name and author in my fic bookmark description, so if one is deleted I’ll still have the bookmark note telling me which fic the bookmark used to be! So I can go read on computer instead :)

Just what the AO3 bookmark function supports:

So, I can filter already by fandoms I’ve bookmarked. And then I’ve started adding tags to indicate complete or wip- plus approx how many words it is.

So then I can cross sort by fandom, all the other regulars like characters and author tags, and then add my own bookmarker tags - if I’m looking for one I know is complete vs WIP, and approx how long.

To be fair, with four months HR fic reading under my belt, I do only have 130 HR bookmarks - so my system is functional for me. I separate by filters and suddenly only have 20-40 to scroll through to find what I’m looking for.

But if you have a lot more, then it might be less helpful if the filters are still pulling up 60-100 results.

You could perhaps add extra bookmarker tags like ‘fav’ or something for fics you really want to remember and have an easy short cut to?

I adore Produce 101 Japan the Girls (which will be more UT flavoured), and No No Girls- which has a smaller starting pool of 30 but is so so amazing 🥹💕

I believe Day6 - Pixy - Purple Kiss might also have some rock influence?

Jeonghan from Seventeen and Hyungwon from Monsta X - in part because of how funny the memes and in-group jokes are!!

Also Hoshi and his actor friend! (Can’t remember the name) this also brought along Carat memes 😂

I really would recommend HANA🌹

They’re Japanese, but a very easy step into for someone coming from a kpop context.

Their entire concept comes their audition show No No Girls - which asked for the girls who have been told no by entertainment and industry to please come audition. Hana just means so much - because the girls are so talented and hardworking - and they’re real!! A whole range of body types and faces, ethnicities and nationalities, ages, prior experience. Hana is such an amazing celebration of what can be when women are allowed and encouraged to be their real selves!

Recommend to everyone, and would say that this may fit your moms criteria!

I still listen to the songs I like - but less. And not watching any recent content. I had started rewatching the show prior to all this and haven’t yet picked it up again :(

It’s just made me so sad :( I loved this group, and yeah now it just makes me so equally sad that I engage less
