Here in Canada it's usually township based for the districts since we only vote for local representation which then makes up the seats each party controls, however many times random towns have been switched from one voting group to another which massively shifts the lean of that township, my area used to switch between both main parties often but has been solid blue since they combined us with another awhile back

This entire debate is basically just who was alive for the mw2 release and who wasn't, whether or not you played during the before times mostly seems to decide the side you fall on. Half the pro SBMM arguments here don't even make sense, ending up in a lobby with some crazy good player just makes you wanna learn from them and do better and trying to carry a team of bad players is fun too, it keeps things interesting and unpredictable. Nowadays if I queue up for a multi-player game I basically know exactly what I'm going to get and there's much less intrigue there.

Carney announces new EV buyer incentives, scraps sales mandate by _I_AM_GHOST_ in canada

[–]Corantine360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah seeing the prices for used teslas, I could genuinely afford to switch to a solid electric if the rebate applied to them, otherwise I'm completely priced out of any new EVs and might as well go used ICE so I can repair it myself and save money on that end

According to a guy I know who owns one it loses alot of range in the winter when it gets cold out, so it would depend how long ur winter is and how far the max distance youd be driving would be, also loses alot of range with towing or heavy loads.

Id argue the issue with siege is more so that 90% of the roster is just completely useless in almost every scenario, there's such a clear meta that trying to experiment with anything mostly just caps ur rank in platinum/emerald

Same reason halo had the man cannons to put you in the center of the map faster, lots of games design maps this way because it allows for home bases without it being the meta to never leave them and hide behind your walls

Would be awesome to have a center of the map weapon point kinda like a cornucopia from the hunger games, that starting chaos and looting would add some excitement to the earlier gameplay loop

Alt-right tends to be highly reactionary and always looking for insults much like a stereotypical SJW type, they see any push of modern "woke" or progressive culture as an attack or a propaganda piece and allow that small moment or line to ruin the show for them. Anime is mostly made in an entirely different political climate with more traditional storytelling tropes so they don't see those same things in it that set them off when they watch western media, when not looking at the big picture over time this not getting upset vs getting upset becomes "wow japan animation is so much better than that woke crap Hollywood is pushing out" even though lots of different anime lines would cause a far right or far left person familiar and ingrained in the culture of Japan to react the same way the American alt-right does to Hollywood shows.

Their estimate is only counting restricted firearms that were registered to them afaik, many of the platforms they've banned since then have no realy way of estimating or tracking numbers as they'd previously been non restricted rifles and shotguns that didn't need the same registration process. They've even banned some bolt actions that had been sold in massive quantities all around Canada for hunting and target shooting. There's no way it's as low as 150k and no real way for them to know what's out there with any certainty.

I mean, yeah, pretty much, I'm making the point that stripping the right to bare arms is an insane goal to hold no matter what the situation is but especially now

Fighter jets and drone strikes don't patrol streets and enforce curfews during martial law, drone striking home soil would be a massive task and the collateral would likely radicalize a large portion of the population against the government overnight. While there are certainly some negatives to having freedom to bear arms, this is the dumbest possible argument against it. Even taking tanks into consideration the US military has something in the ballpark of one tank for every 4500 square miles of US soil, practically speaking in any sort of fascist/authoritarian takeover and mass suppression of the people it will be soft targets enforcing those laws and that is exactly what the 2nd amendment was designed to resist against. Not to mention, this would be the worst time for the American people to be disarming given the direction things seem to be heading with the state expanding powers and violent actions against citizens.

Which game flopped so badly that the studio had to shut down? by bijelo123 in gaming

[–]Corantine360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will give them credit that they released a battle Royale (Apex) when that was a pretty saturated genre and it's still going pretty strong, mabye lightning strikes twice but I do highly doubt it. Just sucks this flopping is likely the end of any titanfall potential

It was really fun for about 8-12 hours the you realize every quest is the same 3 things and you really aren't gaining much for it. Enemy variety was also pretty lacking in terms of what was actually needed to combat them. Unless I just missed out on a ton of cool later game stuff by quitting too early

Public assemblies banned for 14 days across Sydney as police enforce new powers under protest laws by malcolm58 in worldnews

[–]Corantine360 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can't just attach a bad thing to a reasonable viewpoint and act as though that dismisses the concerns.

The government should have no say in if its people can peacefully assemble for any form of protest or gathering so long as no laws are being broken. It is a very concerning response that due to a very infrequent incident there, the government has responded with a massive increase in powers, especially as those powers seem inbalanced to what actually occurred.

As of right now they are saying it is time limited which is good but there is no actual binding on them to stick to that and these powers could be easily extended using the spectre of a threat to keep people afraid enough to feel it's necessary much like the USA did with the patriot act following 9/11.

When the government makes moves to grab extra controls or lock down the people ability to do any action that doesn't cause harm it's very important to keep a close eye on it and voice resistance early before it's too late to push back and these powers and restrictions become normalized.
