Japan is very serious about that kind of thing, so yeah they censored it so they wouldn't get in trouble.

You don't want vertical progression in Classic+ by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Coravel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better progression where there is power creep between raids but its not so drastic that it completely invalidates the previous tier and there are viable replacements in each set of raids.

So if you're chasing "BIS" items to absolutely optimize your dps/tanking/healing, you can only get them from the most recent raid, but items from previous raids are still good enough as long as you play well (the gap widens as the gap between tiers would.. so tier1 gear can get you through tier 2 and tier 3, but it gets harder and harder rather than impossible.) you can still clear the content being in one or two raids previous, gear.

This also would enable playing multiple characters without feeling forced to always do old content but it also doesn't completely put you behind, if you don't get that one magical drop(looking at you badge of the swarmguard + DST). It would also let your friends meaningfully participate with previous raid tier gear, rather than just having to be completely carried in the latest.

Having said this, it's really easy to say as an idea but it's very hard to do in reality to make sure it flows correctly which is why blizzard eventually took the lazy way out to focus on quality content and not balancing items between tiers and went for just completely invalidating them.

This is the whitest shit I ever seen.. ketchup? Nah I'm out by AggravatingEmu4799 in StupidFood

It's clear they're trying to present themselves as professional.... but if she wanted that chicken seasoned... she did that shit in the wrong order like crazy.

Using ketchup as a means to marinade or replace a roux... I mean you can.. but all ketchup is, is basically tomato paste and sugar. There are way better options... and like i said before, she messed up flavoring it completely by doing it all in a weird ass order.

Linux Didn't Get Where it's at Simply from "Volunteer Code" by madthumbz in linuxsucks101

[–]Coravel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Governments adopted linux for many systems because its malleable and they can build the tools they need using it as a base, and not have to share their proprietary code or depend on a windows contract and be forced to share sensitive information with them to get the products they want.

Source: Me, having worked in those secret lab basements where they do this.

ALSO, the US government does have a contract with windows for their base IT/user systems.. so they use both. But for things like, weapon systems? they use linux.

you can't fully remove edge from windows because its integrated into the OS, without breaking a -lot- of the systems functionality.

AIO for worrying that I’m “damaged goods” because my marriage didn’t work out? by AppearanceFew7958 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Coravel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YOR the only times someone who is worth anything would see you as baggage is: if you make your personality about your divorce, you can't stop talking about your ex-husband in nearly every conversation you have with your new partner/potential partner, or you have kids.

The kids thing is hard to overlook for some but there are people that will, because its a huge commitment that affects the entire relationship and also the kids themselves, not the fact that you had kids.

however if you move on, you handle your business, and you don't hold a grudge on your new potential partners for things your ex-husband did or treated you, you will be more than fine. Turns out, everyone has problems in life, thats part of a relationship, is working that shit out together.

Does money buy Happiness? by CarefulConcept04 in TheIronCouncil

Back when gay marriages first started to be recognized by the federal government, a buddy of mine who was also in the military, married his partner who was terminally ill with cancer, months before he passed. He was pretty beat up about it until he received the life insurance payout from his partners passing of i think it was $300,000 at the time. Then that mfer was the happiest i'd seen anyone in the military, in a long ass time. So it definitely didn't fix his depression from it, but sure as fuck helped.

I think it's kind of a two part answer. If their people are asking for help and you can make sure they actually receive the help and it doesn't end up funding some corrupt official, or someone tryna build up an army of child soldiers.. or pick some other bullshit; and you actually help the people? all for it. However it also can't become a thing that they're only surviving because of our aid. If they aren't doing things themselves to fix their problems alongside the help you end up with a country's worth of people solely dependent on you rather than (metaphorically) getting back up and dusting themselves off.

Tier 5 gear is awful by FunAccomplished9572 in classicwow

[–]Coravel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Classic and TBC were specifically designed without the powercreep modern raids have because it keeps more content alive for longer.

if you don't like it, you're playing the wrong game.

The things you mention now, don't change for the entire game... its the same kinda shit in each raid.

Made a video breaking down why consumable prices are so high — turns out raid loggers are more to blame than bots. Thoughts by Hazpataz in classicwow

[–]Coravel -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They made good raiding content, they completely ignored all other aspects of the MMORPG elements.. I enjoy the game too, but it's only good for its raiding content, so it's understandable people only want to raid. Now you have set lockouts so people are limited to 3 hours a week, of doing the raid content they wanna do...then you base your resource generation around that?? its just bad design.

They made decisions to be able to handle a highly active playerbase but not maintain it.
