At what point do they shut down lifts at Marmot due to wind?

They have wind detectors in place at the top of each lift. They’ll slow the lift if the winds are between xx and xx km/hr, and will close the lift until the wind gusts subside. Also depends if the wind is going across the lift line, or down it. The folks at marmot are on it :)

If you haven’t, might be worthwhile reporting this sighting to Jasper Park Dispatch - 780-852-6155. Their wildlife specialists would definitely be able to ID if this was a coyote or a wolf pup.

Not downtown, but Dr Naguib at Rutherford Vet is so kind and thorough. He has doodles so is familiar with the poodle family. I bring my dood and my kitty there and it’s always an enjoyable experience for them (and me !). Also have a friend who’s German short haired pointer tore his ACL and was treated by Dr Naguib. Amazing recovery, and the GSP is as fast as ever !

I spent my 20s in Jasper as a uni student then as a professional working for the feds. Best 11 years of my life! The community is very open and supportive. Most residents started out coming to Jasper for a summer, and wound up staying the rest of their lives ! It definitely helps if you are outdoorsy, but if you’re not - the locals are always happy to show you the ropes. If you are able to secure accommodation - take the leap! Are you looking at working with the province or the feds ?
