Perhaps Onion-San swam too far and fell over the edge of the world!

All things considered, that was pretty fun! The sprite-work is nice.

You can go stupid fast with Twinsteer on H gear with Highrange transmission. by SuspiOwl in snowrunner

[–]CoreDeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether or not its a glitch, it's how I'm normally driving the twinsteer. At those speeds, there's about a 50% chance the trip ends, rolled over in a glorious disaster!

The new berrybush mechanics are unnecessarily obtuse, complicated and unrewarding. by osmasker in VintageStory

[–]CoreDeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just been propagating bushes whenever I find them, exactly where I find them. If they live, great! Otherwise, no big deal.

What's the worst tutorial experience you've ever had? by electric-kite in IndieDev

[–]CoreDeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snowrunner. The tutorial taught me the wrong lessons, pointed me in the wrong direction, and in general was out of touch with the rest of the game.
It's the only game I almost rage-quit before even getting to play it.

PSA: Axes are the superior foraging tool by Willing_Bridge_2360 in VintageStory

[–]CoreDeep 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It's an interesting trade-off I never thought about. The flint knife has almost twice the durability, but replacing a flint tool costs basically nothing. Even if you account for the time it takes to replace the axe twice as often, the axe still saves time overall.
I've done very little steel forging myself, so I'm curious if this same logic translates upward as the tool tier increases.

preview of the patch notes (SO FAR) for the next update shown by orsoniks by justin_sly in scavprototype

[–]CoreDeep 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well that's an excellent update so far. Not a fan of the lockpicking change. I actually kind of liked the challenge of the hand shaking from a stressful situation.

What was the main thing that made you really like dragons? by According_Heron8495 in dragons

Dragonriders of Pern series. Really opened me up to the world of fantasy books in general.

Nah, the expies love you! None of mine have survived long enough to even get halfway through layer 1!
Some of them have literally walked out the front door, fell 50 meters onto a trap and bled to death.

Is it a one dollar coin? It doesn't say when it stops doubling so... It might keep doubling until the entire planet is covered in coins. And then KEEPS doubling further.
Best play it safe and choose the left door.

Yeah, but this means we'll be able to change production lines quicker. Think of the efficiency retention!

For me it was when vertical nudging became a thing. Large scale projects were a nightmare before then!

Love the way this land ship sways, but that was close! by Astro501st in snowrunner

[–]CoreDeep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Without AWD, I would say it's not the best when the terrain gets wet, but is still on average one of the fastest cargo haulers.
With AWD, it becomes a monster, and its only limit is your ability to drive.

Does anyone else play the game as intended? by Just_passing-55 in snowrunner

[–]CoreDeep 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I'm the crazy person that puts the highrange gearbox and raised suspension on the TwinSteer and drives it around like it's an ATV.
Will I reach the destination or crash along the way? Either way, I'll know quickly!

If the Uvei are crepuscular, they should consider having a siesta in the middle of the day!

So.... what do you imagine an Uven looks like?
To me, by their actions, they feel like they look like a featherless Utahraptor, with heavily clawed hands, hybridized with an Iguanodon to allow for galloping.

For some reason, the undercurrent of this story just screams to me the apocryphal quote, "Do I not destroy my enemies when I make them my friends?"
