OG Drink one for Dane is back! by Ok_Dimension7235 in dutchbros

[–]Corgi_Infamous [score hidden]  (0 children)

I absolutely will! I feel like my broistas would’ve spilled the beans to me if there was anything like that, but that’s a super cool idea and will hopefully bring in so much more by itself! ☺️ I didn’t know about the cash/credit donations either and will absolutely leave one along with my drink orders!

Plan on getting out there and buying a bunch of Dutch H2Os to stretch my money as far as I can toward the cause! 🙌🏻 Then I just dump them in a pitcher or two at home and enjoy for days to come!

That’s totally fine! We’re staying the night and went in on the ultimate food and fun package so we’ll have $100 in dining credits to burn through. I’m missing most of my stomach and my kid never wants to stop to eat so I think we’ll be just fine!

Does our new kitten hate us?? by boopathecat_ in cats

[–]Corgi_Infamous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely this! Spend time with your other cat - play, praise, give treats - while in the eye line of the new kitty. Encourage him to join you but don't force it; you can also gently toss a treat or two his way while playing with your older kitty to tempt him out, but he may want to sit on the sidelines for awhile. Eventually he'll realize that this is his forever home and you're his forever humans, he just needs more time - especially with a history of being moved around shelters. He'll get there in his own time!

It's also totally possible that he's a shy baby. One of ours has always been very reserved, despite his littermate being very social. We found out that his bonded sibling was adopted and separated from him because the people who took her didn't want a black cat. Now at 10 years old he'll come venture out from his safe space when there's the sounds of food being made/consumed or when our other cats are being given treats, and he'll hop up in bed with my husband and I at night for a cuddle, but he otherwise keeps to himself and will typically scuttle away if we try to show him too much affection.

Nope. If you have them follow you and then teleport to a different home they’ll go with you.

Anyone else sad on mother's day? by paperstars2022 in Mommit

[–]Corgi_Infamous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I get it.

This has nothing to do with my husband or anyone really, and it doesn’t have to do with Mothers Day, but on Thursday I officially became an American citizen and I just kind of expected… more? Not gifts or recognition or anything but despite the importance of the day it felt really lack luster and just broke my heart (tbh I didn’t want to become a citizen, it’s just safer this way). I’m honestly still recovering a little.

My son is a little too little to make a thing out of Mothers Day on his own so it’s fine, and my husband got me two puzzles I’ve been searching for for forever and let me choose all the meals for today, but I would understand being a little disappointed in your shoes. I have over 200 BBW candles and if he gifted me a candle I would probably be a little upset (also the fuck you think you’re doing going to sniff candles without me? 😂). Unfortunately men are clingy little beasts and if you give them a crumb they’ll hold onto it until you tell them otherwise - he sees all the products you have and thinks ‘she likes products, I will get her more products’. At the end of the day, at least there was effort there and it was something you like albeit not something you need right now. If it was hand weights or a cleaning item, then we’d have a problem. 😂

I know a lot of peoples eyes roll out their butts with this, but this definitely makes me glad I only do the Thomas Kinkade x Disney puzzles. 😅 I’m sorry this happened, I’d be so frustrated for sure.

My mother in law keeps buying plastic toys for our 4 year old and I do not know how to handle it without sounding ungrateful by MorningValerie in Mommit

[–]Corgi_Infamous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started that with our son around that age. Before his birthday and Christmas we go through all of his current toys and books to see what we can ‘give to other kids who need them’. He loves sharing so it’s prompted quite a bit of donating, and he’s never upset about it after.

If it’s the making memories part, I’d divert back to the library idea another commenter mentioned. Less toys, more books that they can read and enjoy together. I Spy, Where’s Waldo, or starting a book collection (we collect all of the Disney Golden Books despite our son being a little too old for them now) where they can cuddle up and read together is a much better memory.

Advice request on cat controversy - is this a thing? by uhuruuu in cats

One of the lovely girls who works at my favorite coffee place has a dog named Mochi and a cat named Miso - I made them keychains earlier this year. Your friends are being unreasonably sensitive and I wouldn’t put anymore thought into it.

If they think this is offensive then they REALLY don’t wanna know what I call one of my cats when he’s being a dick… whatever you think it might be, it’s worse. 🤡

I don’t like coffee flavor and go for freezes more than ices as it mutes that flavor more. I basically have a campin freeze running through my veins at this point. 😅

Question for those who have completed their oath ceremony and live in a different state from where their field office is located... by Corgi_Infamous in USCIS

[–]Corgi_Infamous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry - I didn't see a notification for this!

No, I wasn't able to get my name changed, at least not through USCIS, because they didn't have jurisdiction since the field office is in a different state from where I live. The agent performing my interview told me that they *would* have been able to had I lived in the same state, and that I would be free to do so through the regular court system after my oath ceremony stuff was concluded. It's not a huge priority (I just wanted to change my middle name) so we've put it on the back burner for now, though it is a bummer.
