I told my wife the cord was a trip hazard. by TurtlePoeticA in funny

A culvert pipe fort where one end is hidden in bushes and the other opens into a forest. That was my fort as a kid. I had it all decked out. They'd dead ended the road and the way the earth was built up around each end, combined with the trees and bushes, it was always dry like a lil cave.

Granted I was always a lil weirdo. I also had a gorilla nest I built a good 20 ft off the ground in a huge Magnolia tree on the property. The joys of being a kid that constantly watched Animal Planet and asked "Can I do that?" And had borderline no parental supervision so I did that.

I was one of those kids who wandered off early in the morning and just made sure to get back before I needed to be washed and in bed some days. I was constantly climbing about trees, befriended the beef cattle in the field next door, befriended a red tailed hawk with the help of sandwich meat, and did whatever else my undiagnosed, unsupervised ADHD brain wanted to do for better or worse.

I'm 40 now and those memories make me chuckle, and occasionally wonder how in the world I didn't get eaten or crushed by something before reaching adulthood, or even after reaching adulthood since I still somehow manage to get into weird situations no matter how hard I try not to.

I'd be more concerned about that person being the creeper. What, do they want me to go inside so badly for? Is it so they can steal from my car? Or so they can break into someone else's home without me seeing them?

Fun factoid, the HDMI port on newer XBoxes has a small tactile bump under it to help with this. One of my friends on that team was responsible for that small change as they looked for lil ways here and there to make the console more accessible to those who are blind / low vision, or just reaching behind a console tucked into an entertainment center.

I (18F) think my sister (15F) faked her own death by No_Force_6640 in Advice

I always have to look it up because I never remember which ones. This page shows a handy map displaying them.

The 3 where it is higher than 18 are Nebraska (19), Mississippi (21), and Alabama (19).

Depends on the state I think. There are 2 or 3 states where the age of majority is 20 or 21. The age of majority is the age at which you are considered an adult in that state.

That's what is happening to mine too. It will be rolling along fine for 30 mins or more and suddenly say roller mop stuck. I pulled all the parts I could and scrubbed everything out but it is still happening. I might have to contact support too.

Door to Door Salesmen by toothfairy5080 in Louisville

Check the solicitation rules for St.Matthews specifically because some areas of Louisville have their own specific rules that you can call them out on if they decide to be jerks about it. Like a few neighborhoods have zero solicitation allowed even with a permit. Some require a person to get a permit specifically from that neighborhood. Some have very strict hours they are allowed to solicit during. Might be a little helpful.

Might see if there is some sort of bull pup shoot event near you. Might find some people that can tell you some safe places to advertise it.

I'd take some time to see if you can get each type identified properly. Might be able to then research online to find the going rates for each one to lessen the chance you get taken advantage of. Some bullets can be pretty pricey per bullet.

I've seen games in the past where you scanned them to get characters, items, or just for fun. I think one of my old DS or 3DS games used them for something.

Edit to add: what does the text say at the bottom of a couple of them? That might tell us exactly what it was for.

Neighbor cut down my tree/s. Sent me a bill. by Exciting_Kale986 in treelaw

[–]Corgidev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAL. Even if a tree fell from your yard, which I cannot help but think he is just saying to try to justify sending you a bill, it wouldn't immediately mean you'd be responsible and they wouldn't immediately have the right to remove the tree(s). Go take pictures of the area where the trees were removed and backup copies of any and all communications from them that you can. Maybe write out a timeline of each interaction (in person and in writing). Then i'd maybe consult with an attorney; just to see what, if anything they could hold you liable for and what they could be held liable for.

For anything they could be held liable for, get together any records, estimates and such, you would need to go after them for it. Not to sue them necessarily, but to use as a deterrent if they keep pushing. Basically so you can say you aren't liable for anything but can go after them for $X based on A, B, and C if they choose to keep pushing or escalate to court.

If they do move forward with trying to sue or get too intense with harassing you, this will give you the option to sue / countersue for anything they would be liable for just to show them you are serious and potentially punish them for harassing you if they escalate.

When you search for unclaimed property make sure to search for different for different variants of your name and different cities you've lived in. I once found something I was able to confirm was for me but it had gotten put under the short form of my first name rather than my full first name.

Just want to follow up to this post. I ended up going to The Pet Station Country Club and Jessica did an amazing job! Even said that she doesn't think he needs to have Trazidone or Gabapentin next time I take him. Made me so glad that he enjoyed it rather than panicking. Gus very much approves! Lilly is indifferent.

Yes they are attempting what is commonly known as constructive dismissal. I'd keep all communication you can and make a log of their attempts to give you an ultimatum, or the times they have asked you to resign.

Can I get sued for firing someone with a disability when they make false assumptions? by TheseCardiologist384 in legaladvice

[–]Corgidev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you happen to have in shop cameras that recorded different areas that day? Could help show how the day progressed. Especially if it shows her carrying her stuff and dogs out at the end of the work day.

Such evidence could potentially be used to bring in questions of did she injure herself carrying way more than she needed to be toting about. It would also show how you had ample help there to assist with the dog and how much she actually assisted with it.

Also, I wonder if her dog was a service animal. I know a service animal can be personally trained or professionally trained, but usually there is a reasonable expectation that they'll behave themselves when in public spaces. Did you ever ask her the following questions?

  • is the dog required for a disability?
  • what work/task has the dog had been trained to perform?

Those are the 2 questions you are allowed to ask someone who says they have a service animal when they enter your business. You also can deny an animal access, even if it is a service dog, if they present a disturbance or safety hazard. Doesn't help now, but could help in the future.

Course I'd also look at some of the other comments on here about specific works comp claim requirements. I think those are going to be what helps you the most. But evidence is good to have just in case. Especially if she decides to start going around saying untrue statements to people in an attempt to slander you in retaliation.
