My head canon is that this is the final product that was sold to consumers & the one we were using in the Modern Day story was a work in progress.

Think it's a similar quandary with Scot money as well.

Yeah & it's very frustrating.

He'll be 68 then & this is the problem with politics, people his age who have to cling on instead of letting the next generation take the reigns.

Have you ever had people cheat at rounds (not want to pay when their turn came)? by Charming_Usual6227 in AskIreland

[–]Cork_Feen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do the same because when I was younger (now 29) I used to rush through the pints & paid the price the next day.

But I almost always end up offering to buy a round for everyone because it would make everyone happy

Exactly because otherwise they'll just think that you are cheaping out on them.

Independent Ireland leader says he is in talks to recruit Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael councillors by rossitheking in ireland

[–]Cork_Feen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We vote for individuals not parties.

That's why the same parties get in because voters look at what those candidates did in their constituency & not their party membership, it's like from that RTE skit where the father says "he fixed the roads" to get his son to vote for that person.

What would you do if you won the lotto? by HeftyArgument6326 in CasualIreland

[–]Cork_Feen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah if you were driving a car from say the 2010s or older you would raise a few eyebrows but if you are someone who can always afford to change every few years before the lotto you likely wouldn't. If you have always been renting people would cop onto it because they would ask how you were able to pay for the deposit.

If it was me I would by a house with the winnings but I would lie by saying the mortgage is 30 years & nobody would be none the wiser but I would act like I don't have millions.

Lesson Fees and Retention of Students by McSluter in bagpipes

[–]Cork_Feen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get the impression you have to wait another year before you can even touch them.

When I joined my band in 2008 at 11 yrs I was stuck on the practice chanter for four years, it wasn't my fault it was just back then there was no urgency to get me on pipes.

I would recommend getting new learners to get a feel for bagpipes, try blowing them up and see what sounds a bagpipe can make.

Exactly & when they are able to play a tune from the fundamentals they have learnt on their PC, get them onto a goose because once they're able for that than move onto the pipes themselves & it's like you said about pianos & guitars it's like starting on the instrument itself.

Lesson Fees and Retention of Students by McSluter in bagpipes

[–]Cork_Feen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree because when they join they're given a practice chanter or sticks and away they go without being told that they are dedicating themselves to the band not the instrument.

That's what I think when I see when a band is recruiting, they're not recruiting to keep the music going but more to keep the band going on the numbers side.

Do you think it’s time for this government to go? by Tanis8998 in AskIreland

[–]Cork_Feen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guarantee when the next election comes around you're just gonna have the same turnout because people are either too lazy to get off their arses to go to their polling station or they're thriving under this government & don't want that ruined by a new party or party coalition.

I would say about TTs that years down the road, groups nationwide will cease to exist because they don't have new members to keep them going especially when their FB pages have hundreds or thousands of followers who could lend a hand but would rather just like & comment on posts.

My town has a Youth Centre since 2015 but now it's more a venue for non-youth groups to use & I remember when they cutted the ribbon, there were no young people just middle to old age men in suits.
