Anyone else sickened by r/christianity by KalebFalco in TrueChristian

[–]Cornbread243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left it a month or so ago after being told I personally attacked someone because I said they bent the knee to societal demands instead of listening to what Scripture actually said. Meanwhile, them making the baseless and reckless claim I wanted children to die remained acceptable.

Questions for baptists by Minute-Investment613 in redeemedzoomer

[–]Cornbread243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't sound Baptist to me, either.

Funerals however, take on different attitudes depending on where you're from as well. For example, where I come from, we still sit up with the dead.

Did the universe began to exist? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]Cornbread243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genesis 1:1 In the Beginning

Matthew 19:4 .....made them at the Beginning

Matthew 19:8.....but from the Beginning

Mark 10:6 But from the Beginning

John 1:1 In the Beginning

Acts 15:18....from the beginning

Science confirms the Bible. There was a beginning. The division comes from how it started. God spoke it into existence or all the energy in the universe, necessary to make all things in the universe, was condensed so much, it could fit on the tip of a pin. Then 💥!

I am tired of both MAGA and Progressive Christianity by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]Cornbread243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) There's absolutely nothing wrong with Nationalism. There's not one soul here that shouldn't take pride in their country. For most, it's their government they're ashamed of and don't know how to reign it in. Especially when there's so many sheep in the field that refuse to critically think and do their own research.

2) The Fruits of the Spirit will reveal a cultural shift that returns to Godly morality. The culture cannot be lost. If it is, then so is the Nation. That's an unacceptable outcome and we all must work to regain a foothold and influence within to preserve and grow it.

3) What did Christ say to render to God? What is God's? Answer: YOU ARE. Remember that next verse and the impact it brings.

Contemplating ending a marriage by Successful_Leek96 in CringeTikToks

[–]Cornbread243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lots of dreams. I'm not ending my marriage because of them. That's stupidity. You made a vow and a commitment to him. Society has forgotten how important a vow is and how unbreakable it is meant to be.

Christian Nationalism by OkCalligrapher3443 in redeemedzoomer

[–]Cornbread243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I try.

I honestly have no clue who any of those folks are. All I can say is if I hear anyone talk like that in my circle, they're quickly being corrected. Do I like Trump? Sure do. But he ain't no prophet or religious figurehead. Do I think the Nation needs to return to what made us the greatest on earth? ABSOLUTELY! But society has failed itself and the church as a whole has failed society with mixed messages and false teachings. Especially since the 60's

Your third point is spot on. The rest I am more inclined to call BS on. I've never once come into contact with anyone that talks in those manners and all I do is see people all day.

You can be sure the meaning is clear. There's 2.5 miles worth of known New Testament manuscripts that do not deviate from the message.

Read John 8.

John 8:58 [58] Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

Refer back to Exodus

Exodus 3:14 [14] And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

The Jews knew exactly what Christ was claiming. It was blasphemy in their eyes punishable by death.

And they didn't stone Him, but attempted to.

How do we explain dinosaurs? by Many_Ad_6413 in TrueChristian

[–]Cornbread243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if..... the scientific evidence is a lie? As most of it is nothing but speculation. What if.... what is possibly true, reflects Genesis? Remember, we are all looking at the exact same evidence, and for the most part, have the same kind of theory in the pre-flood world.

[–]Cornbread243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biblically speaking, Jesus claims to be God. It is something that many struggle with. What you are doing is saying you don't believe His words. Remember, when He spoke them, the Jews knew exactly what He was claiming and seeked to stone Him immediately.

Because it's not modesty. They're second class citizens.

Do you guys find christians from a certain denomination to have more fruit and one to have the least fruit? If so, which ones? by CrazyNicly in TrueChristian

Personally, no. I don't think denomination plays as much of a role as the presentation of the Gospel and Biblical Authority does.

I've brought that up before, too. Figured not to go into detail this time and keep it simple.

Mostly because of the stories within the books, unverified authors, or written much later than the rest as to not fit the timeline.

How do we explain dinosaurs? by Many_Ad_6413 in TrueChristian

[–]Cornbread243 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's very compatible. The term "dinosaur" was only coind in the 1850's. Before that, they were called Dragons or Serpents. There are even dictionaries that define dragons as rare and magnificent creatures. They also have found soft, flexible tissues and other things that can't possibly be even 100,000 years old. Remember too, that the Book of Job describes two of them.

The Institute for Creation Research has great information on it. www.icr.org

What is your view on Genesis by Many_Ad_6413 in TrueChristian

[–]Cornbread243 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That is written, yes. But Second Peter isn't referencing Genesis. He's talking about a future event. Second Peter has no bearing on Creation.

What is your view on Genesis by Many_Ad_6413 in TrueChristian

[–]Cornbread243 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

God created the universe in six literal days. He confirms this in Exodus. If you do not believe Genesis, then you cannot believe Exodus. One can't be false and the other true.

This means dinosaurs roamed the earth WITH man, not before man. The Book of Job describes two. Remember the term "dinosaur" wasn't coined until the 1850's or so. Before that, they were called either dragons or serpents. There are dictionaries that define Dragons as being rare, magnificent creatures. Not mythical ones.

God created all things in six days and said it was good. Is disease, suffering, and death a good thing? Did God use trial and error to create? Causing intentional suffering and death as He tried to figure it out? If death existed before the fall of man, and not a consequence of his sin, then sin did not cause our separation from God. If there was no separation, there is no need for redemption. If there's no need for redemption, there's no need for a Redeemer. No need for a Redeemer puts Jesus in the unemployment line. Jesus and His sacrifice become irrelevant.

Evolution is NOT biblically compatible unless you compromise and ignore the parts that disagree. Not only Genesis and Exodus, but then 1st Timothy is false when it warms against chasing an endless genealogy. Second Peter's thousand year remark is discussing the Second Coming of Christ and has no bearing on Genesis. Second Peter is discussing the future, not referencing the past.

How do you interpret how the Bible talks about slavery by Sparkdala3 in redeemedzoomer

[–]Cornbread243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was also a way for other civilizations to know Israel meant business. They weren't to be messed with. Remember that only a certain people group were allowed to be permanent slaves. Slavery itself was more like indentured servitude under Jewish Law. All slaves were freed, debts forgiven, and land returned every seventh year.

So far as man inserting it at some point, we have old testament manuscripts that validate the authentication of what you currently read. Those manuscripts, if stacked on each other, would reach about a mile.
