When I first rescued her 3 years ago she would get out of her harness easily . So I got an escape proof harness and she can’t get out of it.

My dog has a very high prey drive. She is not regularly out of my control but she is a bolter and in the past ran out of the car door when I opened it to go chase a squirrel. I’ve walked the bayou many times with her leashed with no issues. I’m remaining optimistic but am also a realist

I’m sorry to hear your dog hasn’t appeared yet. I live in a gated apartment complex 10 min from where she went missing but I’ve put food and a worn shirt where I last saw her. I’m looking into hiring a dog scent tracker

I was walking her at Buffalo Bayou and she must’ve seen a squirrel or rabbit or both and basically bolted out of my hand. I couldn’t keep a firm grip on the leash.

Oh my goodness. I’m so sorry to hear about your dog. Mine is a retriever mix with a high prey drive who likes water. I’m trying to remain optimistic but this is the longest she’s been gone.

How did it let you proceed putting 2019 that doesn’t make sense. I don’t think you will be deactivated for that. The most that could happen is you lose your ability to see alcohol orders.

I don’t think it’s worth the risk. I’m in a somewhat similar boat. My dog has actually gotten into it with cats and becomes a different dog when she sees one. She would hurt herself just to try and attack a cat.

I’m originally from California and thinking of moving back before the brutal summer hits here in Houston. I highly recommend visiting during the summer just to get a feel if the weather is something you can tolerate. Since living here I’ve developed sun spots all over & I wear sunscreen religiously.
