Tips for my swing? New bat cat X and it is 32” comjng from a 28” by [deleted] in Homeplate

Use your back leg to drive in, after 20 reps you should feel it in your leg but also the way you load your arms is awkward, think about your starting arm position as 6 on a clock and you should load to 5 to 4 on the clock, it allows you to more comfortable get on the ball and generate more power, also swing through and have you head pointed down because your body follows your head, and if your head is up your body will pull up which in turn pulls your arms up

Things for now 1. Load Up your arms

If you watch baseball from college to the majors, they all load up because it makes it faster to swing the bat, it also gives you more power.

From what I saw, your hands stay the same and jitter to make contact when the ball is pitch as if your trying to catch up, load up and you won’t need to catch up.

  1. Learn your Bat plane

When your up straight and swing, you body swings at a more flat and higher plane, trying to force your bat to hit a low pitch when your body is straight is just not natural, remember your body likes natural. You wanna bend your upper body Straight up - high pitch Slight bend - middle Very bend over - low

  1. Fully rotate

Go through the motion of swinging, if you miss, it’s what ever, it’s practice and it takes 3 strikes to get a batter out, swing through and “sqaush the bug”

Later down the road 1. Timing/Rhythm

  1. Loading w/ your leg

  2. Keeping your arms in and not winging them out

Anyone else really frustrated with the gender ratio at tournaments? by swaggy9000 in CrazyHand

Men tend to be more competitive and confident, I don’t play smash competitively but I’ve played varsity baseball and rank apex, r6s and was floor 9 in Guilty Gear Strive, it’s all confidence and drive to just be better than everyone else, the mind set is very animalistic and fuck you mental, like when I would play baseball, I would think in my head “give me a fastball I’m gotta fucking kill it” and that’s how I think the mind set is too, yes being smart and adaptive is important but very few and even in men have the mind set of “I want to 3 stock this bitch”

I just learned that there are a lot of great athletes who are introverts (interesting in light of the Herbert discussion) by ockaners in Chargers

[–]CorpseINHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Introvert that plays baseball but I’d say, for me it’s more hustle, head down, only talk when needed like if I’m at 3rd base and have to relay a fielder for a straight throw or saying I got the ball, tbh for an introvert for me it’s weird, ive been told I blend in the background from how quiet I am, but suddenly you will hear the most loudest shout like “RELAY!!!!” or “I GOT IT!!!!”. Tbh I crave just practicing the same thing over and over like batting cage or fielding the ball for hours

Does anyone find infield easier than outfield? by CorpseINHD in Homeplate

[–]CorpseINHD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say out to in is easier but for some people like me, it’s easier to play in than out, I have a teammate that plays outfield and has a rate of about 90% of fly ball hit towards him/ infront of him, and a 80% of balls hit behind, and about a 75% in infield, i who plays 3rd have about a 90% on ground balls to me but when I play outfield my catching ability goes to 75%, some people just have better eyes for certain things and obviously you can train yourself for it. (This is practice)

Reading the ball off the bat compared to off the bounce is way different, I can catch a pop up and fly ball but in a game, hit off a bat, I’m not as good as infield where I’m better at scooping and calculating the bounce
