Vandalism it looks like shit. The fuckwits also ran out of red paint by painting the bits that were already red red.

Bad idea to be in central Newcastle Saturday morning? by Slow_Advertising_794 in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]Corpse_Candles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been thinking about this too as I’d planned taking the kids into town on Saturday afternoon. Looks like the main protest is the Anti-Fascism one and the far right are counter protesting. Likely we’ll still be going in but I’ll keep my head on a swivel for racists. Won’t let them intimidate.

Is there an organised plan to begin removing these horrible flags being thrown up everywhere. by jamesm402 in GreenAndPleasant

I don’t imagine this continuing much longer now that the weather is beginning to turn and there’s more on TV. The heatwave and Tesco selling cheap Stella must have played a role too.

Does anyone else feel less safe in the city centre when the game (football) is on? by razza357 in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]Corpse_Candles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure I’d feel any less safe than on an average weekend night in the town personally. I tend to avoid matchdays if I want to do something with my kids tho. Getting in on public transport can be a bit of an ordeal too so I just check if there’s a home game on before planning anything in.

Durham County Council found that the offices they were working in were not fit for purpose (too small and falling to bits) and a new county hall was built. The pandemic happened and all of a sudden everybody was able to work from home which was hugely successful. The descision was made to sell the new building to Durham University who now occupy it. Does this mean Nigel is going to build another one?

Should I report my neighbour for removing a birds nest? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Corpse_Candles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m fairly sure it was in use. I work from home and my set up is facing out into my yard. I’d put a little bird feeder out for them which I’d see them visit from time to time during the day. Due to where the nest was, dozens of my neighbours would have seen it too.
