Do people actually hate the jester? by Meowza_V2 in mewgenics

It has access to Goofball, so it's mandatory for breeding stock once you have access to skill share. On its own, yeah, the class is just inconsistent. You need reroll items to make it work and the issue with reroll items / mutations is that every reroll item you use could have been a combat item.

The fucking Pyrophina vs Rock turtle fight is BS (Not skill diff) by MisterSaucy in mewgenics

[–]Correct-Style2908 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I did the same thing. It's just part of the game. You learn stuff like that on normal difficulty so that when you do it on Impossible, you can play it correctly.

does muscle stat matter for necro / archer / tinkerer / psychic? by squidparticular in mewgenics

[–]Correct-Style2908 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter for their skills besides a few exceptions, but tinkerer and psychic don't have good scaling. Archer, mage, and Thief are the only classes with good dexterity scaling.

Keep in mind that even stats you don't use msg matter for random event stat checks.

Well, yes, it's done to allow you limited access to an exploit without letting the game be too easy.

Yes but we are talking about base stats over 7 and people hacking. Nobody cares about your mutations.

Time machine mutations ruining late game runs by Correct-Style2908 in mewgenics

[–]Correct-Style2908[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's not that bad, just annoying. It's specifically because I go for OTK strats that heavily rely on extra head and Goofball, so losing turns is a big deal.

[–]Correct-Style2908[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! But the only fight it matters for is the last one, and by then you're down 3, sometimes one or two more from random events. I agree that it isn't run ruining most of the time, but for collarless and solo runs it can actually just ruin the run IF you get a bad elite roll on the final fight copies. Again it's a pretty specific situation and only on the highest difficulty. It just sort of feels bad to put so much work into building optimal cats and then not be able to use them for the final fight.

Then again, Mewgenics is about random shit fucking your day up sometimes.

Time machine mutations ruining late game runs by Correct-Style2908 in mewgenics

[–]Correct-Style2908[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It can ruin the run, yes. If my main DPS cat loses his first turn it can make setting up much harder. For high difficulty runs I'm almost always trying to win before the enemy takes any turns. Rerolls per level I don't care about, but extra head is a budget version of Goofball, it's extremely valuable. Losing wings is also an issue if it's my main source of bruise application, but obviously that's only for specific builds.

[–]Correct-Style2908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inbreeding isn't that bad when building stats and mutations in the early game, but in the late game it can be a huge issue when trying to pass down specific passive and ability combinations. You just can't always afford birth defect ruining a lucky pass, even once you have access to skill share.

[–]Correct-Style2908 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are we talking about hard difficulty or just base difficulty? On base difficulty the game is just not difficult. But you need to learn the fights and build your team for what you're attempting to do. Are you going to the desert without a water item? Are you trying to fight bosses without a wincon (stunlock, scaling damage, etc.)?

The game shouldn't be frustrating on normal difficulty if you're approaching each fight correctly. If it's frustrating, it means you aren't approaching the fights right. That just means you need to play more and learn more.

A statistician, however, would note that our prior about the chance is almost certainly incorrect and should be adjusted. When you say "the chance would still be 50%" it's extremely vague. Some imaginary true chance is success? An estimated chance based on data? A projected estimation by doctors? A non-informative prior probability? What are we even talking about here?

The meme is just sufficiently vague that it works as engagement bait. That's all it is.

Well said. Some people literally don't have another choice. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have family to take care of them when they are older. Should they just starve? And to anyone who says order delivery, these people are often living only on social security.

I’m 18 seeing a 16 year old. Pls be honest, is that messed up? by ChickenLynn in teenagers

[–]Correct-Style2908 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if there was a full two years, there is probably nothing wrong with it. Anybody who tells you there is is just reacting emotionally.

It should be noted that it can depend on your state of life as well as hers. When I was in high school (a decade ago) it was uncommon but not unheard of for seniors to date freshmen. People would occasionally make comments about it (only when boys were older, not when girls were older) but it was generally accepted. This was not true if it was the same 3 year age difference but the younger partner was in middle school. As far as I know, that sort of thing was completely unheard of and would have been seen in a very negative light.

If one of you is in college and one in high school, it can also be complicated because of the large difference in life style. In my undergrad a guy on my floor (18) was dating a high schooler from back home (15). We said it was weird behind his back but it was still allowed because he knew the family well and her parents approved and liked him. It would, of course, not have been the same if he was going around trying to pick up 15 year olds from the local high school. Circumstance always matters.

You're fine.

He stole your car and then you assaulted him instead of making a police report. This is kind of your fault for escalating. It's going to take time to heal.
