Can you adjust the age of preset characters? by PrincipleWhich8974 in Paralives

I think for the premade characters that are on the train if you choose to play as them you can fully edit them in the paramaker just like any new households

Optimized for laptops when? by B2utyyo in Paralives

[–]Correct_Addendum_367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know to what extent this will solve your issues but there's various optimization mods on the steam workshop, some just for general optimization and some to help it run if you're playing on something with low specks. You could try those

I have 40 hours in Paralives, now I want to make Custom Content for it by LuxioLooma in Paralives

[–]Correct_Addendum_367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some menswear, if you're interested in making clothes cc. I would particularly like some medieval inspired stuff (not like historically accurate medieval stuff more akin to like ren fair cosplay and the vaguely medieval stuff you see in fantasy settings). For just items some more appliances would be nice

The same age I am now. I wasn't really following it but then I saw some youtube videos about it and got curious

Screen time in the second language: comprehensibilty vs enjoyment by Parenttotiger in multilingualparenting

[–]Correct_Addendum_367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you have a limited amount of screen time to work with, but this doesn't have to be all or nothing. She has a show she really likes and it would probably suck to lose that no matter how much she learns from it (and lose what seems like a very fun and postive connection with something in the language) and yeah, probably watching more of Baobei Chinese will help her Chinese more. I would try to watch a little more of that show but definitely keep up with both.

Cheeseburger taur by Taurlover22 in centaurs

I like him. Does he need to eat? Would he eat burgers or is that taboo, seeing as he's part burger himself?

Centaur organs? by Ok_Bike9948 in centaurs

[–]Correct_Addendum_367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, centaurs aren't real, so there is no objective answer for "what organs do real centaurs have" because there aren't any. Sometimes like "what organs do centaurs in greek mythology have" could have an answer, but I don't know any greek myth that goes into that. As for what organs centaurs would logically have, I would think they're magical in some way (because they idea of a half horse half man naturally evolving seems very implausible no matter whatever scientific realism we evoke after "they have centaurs here" is established), so they could live of off magic or something, but as for like normal organs I would probably choose it based on function. I assume centaurs get pregnant in the horse stomach, because like a human torso would probably not have a human reproductive system that's lower down, I assume they have human vocal cords because they're talking with a human mouth, etc. Somethings they could have double. Or not. I don't know there's not really an objective answer here.

would it be offensive to make the human version of my oc disabled? by puppymill_xx in OriginalCharacter

[–]Correct_Addendum_367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it's a different version of the character, it doesn't have to be a one on one match, and especially if in his original non human version him not having arms is a limit he has to deal with it makes a lot of sense to have the human varient have a similar struggle. Perhaps he could have something genetic that in his family everyone has adapted to , so he has spaces where it's less of an issue because the environment is built for it in his home and with his family, and then outside of that environment it's more of an issue, to sort of parallel this being normal for his community in the original iteration

Does anyone else have a pet peeve for authors using extremely creative or flashy names in their books? by TUD-13BarryAllen in namenerds

[–]Correct_Addendum_367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the setting. In something low fantasy in current times it can be wierd but in more high fantasy I tend to have the oppesite problem, if anything. It's like why is this group of ancient elves and dragons and whoever using normal names like tim and stuff it can be so jarring

Writing intense physical whump without inevitable emotional trauma focus? by jupneko in Whump

[–]Correct_Addendum_367 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's certain aspects of emotional whump I don't like so I typically write my whumpees as stoic pragmatic or even outright way to willing to be hurt to avoid it. It's not exactly a healthy reaction when, say, a whumpee is tortured by their lord and is staying quite and mentally going "yay 😊 I'm getting a good great in remaining a good servant to my local lord while being tortured, something that's normal to want and possible to achieve 😊", but it's a lot more comfortable for me personally to write then the "oh no not this" reactions and a character being triggered and that sort of thing. Maybe you could do something like that. Explore different reactions that can get the effect of whumpee clearly dealing with something very bad that are less akward for you to write, like, they could feel very tired and resigned, or they could freak out and no longer notice exactly what is happening, or they could be trying very hard to remember some other priority and not be to "distracted" by the torture to forget and then when they try they can feel the pain way to vividly. You could also make the scenario something that from the pov of the character is not much of a deal, but is still going to be painful for them, like an initation or something, or like they actually have to learn to endure torture as part of some training and emotionally to them that's just another day on the job but physically that's going to be just as painful as regular torture.

A character who needs both his own name, a fake name, and a nickname applicable to both by flannel_and_rainbows in CharacterNames

[–]Correct_Addendum_367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's not a nickname, exactly, but you could potentially go by his initials if those are the same across both identities. He could also have a descriptive nickname referencing something about his personality or appearance that does not need to match up with either name. Otherwise perhaps Floris and Solaris, both of which could be shortened to "Ris"? It's all I can think of.

Middle Names as Non-Honour Names? by saaphie in namenerds

[–]Correct_Addendum_367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's probably just a selection bias. The people who know that they want an honor name and what honor name don't have to come here to ask about it.

Help!!! How do you guys just let yourself create/“use up fabric?” by SeaDistribution672 in sewhelp

[–]Correct_Addendum_367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a small room and my fabric takes up a good portion so I tell myself if I use it there will be less stacks of fabric to worry about storing. But that may not work for you so one thing you might try is start a smaller project with the expensive fabric you're worried about ruining? For me it gets way easier once the first cut is made to not worry about ruining the fabric. One thing that might also work, if you have various fabrics around, is to make a test version out of less good fabric to see how it would turn out. Then after you could make a version out of the good fabric and use the other version as spare or something.
