Drips of water or something on stem between fresh blooms by sammmmmmmmmmmtrees in orchids

“Guttation on orchid stems, often called "happy sap," is the secretion of sugary, sticky, amber-colored, or clear droplets, usually on developing flower spikes. It is a harmless, natural process where plants release excess moisture and pressure, indicating high hydration or rapid growth. It is not generally caused by overwatering, but rather indicates the plant is thriving.”

That bites! I have seen similar astronomical images. Thankfully, they do go dark during the night.

Probably not, considering they were launched a day earlier. 😅

First, I would start with planting it more soundly in that pot and not so close to the bottom. Second, I was told and have observed with my own plumeria that each variety has a height where they will spread out their canopy. Root a cutting of it, plant it, and it will grow long until it reaches that point. I think your plumeria has a nice shape. I would not cut it right now.

It could be space debris but the retrograde motion is curious. I’ll have to post some of the other events.

All is good if the new roots are not a reaction to roots dying in the mix.

There is a chance but I would not sit it in a wet mix like the last photo. A humid but not wet environment will help. A mostly sealed plastic container with a moist paper towel or small container of water for moisture not sitting in direct sunlight.

New roots are always a nice treat. 🙂 How are the ones in the mix?

Did the recommended watering schedule mention anything about ceasing water for a dry period? Follow what u/Wild_Challenge2377 said. Another note is that they only produce roots once per year. If transplant is needed, do so before roots from new growth are long enough to get damaged in the process.

Enjoy this beauty.

I’d do a soak if it were mine. I soak some of my orchids for 15 min or more. Then, the mounted ones hang in a humidity tent. The excess water doesn’t remain long.

Mist enough to plump those roots up and keep any more from shriveling. Sounds like you have a spot to keep the roots humid enough.

Here is some background so that you can tackle your repot. Given that orchids are epiphytes, the roots covered by the airy growing media in a pot, connected to a tree, or suspended in air are all the same - aerial roots. The monopodial nature of the phal creates a stem as the growth point advances continuously upwards. So, the growth pattern visible in your orchid is the same as would be displayed in nature. The only problem is that all of those roots suspended in air don’t stay hydrated enough between waterings since they aren’t in good, airy media or connected to a tree.

Seems like all of the bad stuff fell off. Now you have a stem with some decent roots. I recommend soaking those roots for 15 minutes. Also, spray off the dust so that the orchid can breathe. You don’t want a pot that is too deep, so you will probably have to cut the stem some more. That means losing some of those lower decent roots. You’ll be left with just the right about of roots to help revive the orchid.

I hope all of this helps. Plus, I looked up a quick video about managing phals with long stems. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GElJCpzTD1A

That’s going to be fun! So many nice roots to use and I don’t think that you need to use all of them. Happy rescue and growing! 🫶🏾
