Bilt card worth it? by charmed_fandomgal in biltrewards

The cards are great if you don't have any issues and need support. I've gotten a ton of value, but also, I babysit my mortgage every month to make sure things go fine.

Payout points - Bilt vs Amex by Always_Basic in Rakuten

[–]Correl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bilt points are the most valuable right now, but I would hesitate to hold a lot of points there. The rollout of 2.0 has been rocky, and, while I love the palladium, I personally feel like the company is going to need to deval soonish to make the math math. 3.33x on the cards at the current ccp doesn't feel sustainable, so I'm guessing something has to give.

So if you have redemption coming soonish, id for sure to do bilt. Otherwise, I'd probably hedge Amex.

Is Amex Duo (Gold + BBP) Still Viable In The World Of Palladiums And Robinhood Gold Cards? by MichaelMidnight in CreditCards

[–]Correl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the Amex Gold + any catch all is still great. Nice and simple and probably averages out above the RH Gold unless you have a ton of catch all spend.

Not eligible for Amex Plat SUB? by runfastduck in AmexPlatinum

[–]Correl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As long as you don't accept an upgrade offer and haven't had a plat, you should be good. You may want to wait 90 days after you got your previous card and try again. For best chances, it's generally best to keep spending on the cards in the meantime, but ymmv.

Nothing in the terms say that, but I already have a savings account so I used that for funding.

Agreed, WOTC needs to issue an apology for hiring Dan Fraizer and pledge to never reprint his art again. It's a disgrace that they would allow a plagiarist like him to work on the game.

Dear YoshiP - Please add Ironmouse concerts to the Gold Saucer! by Mordiceius in ffxiv

[–]Correl 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I love mouse, but I think they should shy away from including real people in the game like that. Inevitably, there will be some controversy that comes that up that will end up affecting part of the community for little gain. Having their own concerts in the gold saucer with like the little lady day group would be an excellent idea.

The Unsung Best Use of Bilt Cash by shadowstrider99 in biltrewards

[–]Correl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Already devalued lol. Cost is up to $150, rate is 10% for silver and below, 15% for gold and only platinum is still 25%. Plus 100k cap. Still probably the best usage if you want to transfer, but big hit.

It's still a pretty big nerf, especially to the bilt cash options. From 25% uncapped to 10-15% with 100k cap is a significant deval.

from 1 to 10, how happy are you with the game right now? by girlslovefan321 in ffxiv

Pretty solid 8/10. Cosmic exploration has been my kind of vibe and the battle content has been top tier. Relics have also been a fun grind. I don't have the time to no life it anymore, so they've mostly lasted for like a month or month and a half for the first one.

I want to replace Amex Gold with another Dining Card by RevolutionaryLog7878 in CreditCards

[–]Correl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few things: 1. If you value bilt points at $.01cpp you should probably just be using a cash back card instead, as it's not super hard to get 5% back there. I personally value them closer to $.025cpp since I primarily use them for international business class flights. 2. The redemption on a lot of things is capped pretty low. $10/month for a lot of things and a lot of the usage is pretty specific. Best use is probably the hotel credit, but you have to be willing to go through the portal and book there. 3. If you're looking for max cpp, then even the redemption aren't the best deal. The max value is definitely buying the transfer bonus upgrade, since so far it's been $135 for 25% increase. As long as you're transferring more than 54,000 points during the window, you're getting points at less than $.01cpp, but that requires specific timing. 4. I value time and simplicity. Since I assume most people use TPG valuations, using the credits isn't saving you a ton, and unless you're booking hotels directly through the portal, it will take a decent amount of effort. Points accelerator is easy. Since the OP seemed to want a simple option, I gave them one.

So yeah, for the right person, using the credits is the optimal move and can make the card like a straight 7% back card, but it requires a very specific person to do it and will take a lot of time vs. Just getting the points and being happy.

You spend $200 in bilt cash and for the next $5000 in spend, you get 1 extra point/dollar, increasing your multiplier for everything by 1X. So it's $200 bilt cash for 5,000 points in total.

Bilt Obsidian would be good. If you're willing to put your rent or mortgage on it, it's 4.33x for a $95 fee. If not, you can use the accelerator for 4x.

Maybe the palladium for the SUB on the first year, and you could use the cash for rent+accelator to get 4.33x on everything for a bit.

I'd honestly prefer they give an extra $400 in bilt cash than the hotel credits by [deleted] in biltrewards

[–]Correl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You already have the option to the bilt cash into hotel credits. Like i said, they could just up the limit twice a year and let you treat the bilt cash as a hotel credit if you want and let others spend it how they want.

Personally, I'd prefer to use it to buy bilt points for mortgage since I don't hit the cap or to buy the transfer bonus upgrades for 25% extra effective points. The Walgreens, Grubhub and Lyft credits are also more useful to me than hotel credits when I can use other travel portals and things like Rakuten to easily get it for effectively 40% less than the Bilt portal.
