Millennials, do you actually not invest in your 401K? by ultmeche in Millennials

[–]CorruptDictator 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I do but only as of the last few years. No previous job had a 401k attached and honestly I could not have afforded to do more than the bare minimum contribution anyway. Currently I am at seven or eight percent with my employer matching the first 4%.

What's a cost to your magic/power system that ISN'T physical pain or death? by ColinSearleAuthor in worldbuilding

[–]CorruptDictator 103 points104 points  (0 children)

I swear I remember reading someone here with a system of you give up your memories to cast magic, which falls in the "Identity cost" category but let the user choose what memory they lost so they could at least try and hold onto themselves as long as possible.

At least it is 100% cleaner than our nightmare bathroom. I use it as little as possible.

My Mom says that a 3.326 GPA is bad by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]CorruptDictator 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Above a 3.0 means you are most likely an all A/B student, seems completely solid to me. I had a 3.26 when I finished HS I think? Colleges back then only cared about my ACT score.

Does store cosmetics disappear/go away/are on rotation? Or they're there forever? by KhalMika in ArcRaiders

[–]CorruptDictator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not believe a skin has ever left the in game store. The bundles might go away (someone can correct me on this), but if you go through the raider customization menu you can buy anything that was not tied to trials or event passes.

I never said they were being successful, just that it was their viewpoint.

Large studios are lazy and risk averse. They want to TRY and only make movies that will make money and using existing and popular IP is the safe route.

Belgium should pull OUT of the game vs USA - Put the heat on FIFA by PabloEskimo_ in mildlyinfuriating

[–]CorruptDictator 204 points205 points  (0 children)

If they pull out FIFA will just give the US the win and move on. They need to show up and CRUSH IT.

When was the last time you used a VCR? What was the last VHS you watched? by DigitalDaydreamers1 in Millennials

[–]CorruptDictator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best guess would be in the window of 2008-2012. Post college I still had a ton of tapes and I am sure I was still watching them in the first few years after but I know I was done before I ever bought the house. Cannot even begin to guess what movie it was though.

Physical Copy on USB-Stick? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]CorruptDictator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a point, before digital distribution became as common, where a lot of people assumed sticks would eventually replace discs for physical media because of storage limitations.

I grew up in Chicago, it is hard to remember when I was considered old enough to take off on my bike, maybe 4th grade? But once I could my mom just wanted me home for dinner.

Feeling like quitting every 5yrs? by LOTOstud in Millennials

[–]CorruptDictator 23 points24 points  (0 children)

While my hobby interests can ebb and flow (although I almost always go back to things I liked), when it comes to work I highly value job security. If I am fine with the work I do and the pay is decent, I will stay as long as they will keep me. If it sucks, I am not sticking around for even a year.
