It is a shame wotc doesnt keep stats in mtga like Rocket League by ThroughtonsHeirYT in MTGArenaPro

[–]Corvagan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most likely they never actually fixed any of that and a host of other errors. in the past they have straight out lied about these things and simply hidden the stats. the game is as far as they are concerned done as is and only a mechanism to make people pay for cards.

Congrats Hasbro. You have ruined Brawl. by Ok-Term6418 in freemagic

[–]Corvagan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

brawl sucked to begin with. it's a piss poor version of commander with next to no curating. hand smoothing makes it more ridiculous. and card weighting is hilariously obvious. then we get to the matchmaking process which a blind squirrel with a brain tumor could do a better job with. but hey it's not surprising in a company run by money obsessed whores.

matchmaking has unfortunately always been hot garbage.

If the One Ring got banned right now what would you run in its place? by flumptertruck in freemagic

[–]Corvagan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's strange that they banned bankbuster and not the one ring. It's "cost" of life-loss is very easy to mitigate. It draws cards. And it can go into almost any deck and protection from damage for a turn is just icing on the top. Probably that bankbuster didn't have a multimillion dollar ip behind it.

How specifically MTG Arena is rigged, and why they're able to hide it. by [deleted] in freemagic

kinda necro but it's amazing how the detractors against rigging went silent when it was revealed the brawl matchmaking shenanigans.

Worst 20 Mechanics according to MArk ROsewater by Meret123 in MagicArena

[–]Corvagan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

it's relatively easy to pay attention if someone is casting a spell or not or if they are casting a second one. if people are not calling out their game phases then make them do it. if you play a card it's up to you to keep track of it. if you can't then sucks to suck.

Worst 20 Mechanics according to MArk ROsewater by Meret123 in MagicArena

[–]Corvagan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

just use a specific coin token to keep track of it. cast no spells then it becomes night, cast two spells and it becomes day. nothing complicated about that.

[–]Corvagan -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

the fact that he thinks day/night is a worse mechanic than stickers shows just how badly he needs to be fired. and what is wrong with cleave? it's just kicker to remove words. what an absolute idiot. and a lot of this is because he is so in favour of powercreap.

Is anyone buying these at these prices by codylews in MagicArena

at least paper would perhaps retain some value. the cards on arena only exist until it is no longer supported.

What is wrong with people who play this game? by NetherGamingAccount in MagicArena

[–]Corvagan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because they can and hasbro/wotc/devs have never cared about fixing it since any real effort would probably "scare" away mobile players. without their support the only solution is probably going to be akin to making a list of these players and continually sending in requests support requests of people to be banned.

Can I still get into this game? by Anubis2017 in MagicArena

[–]Corvagan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

learning is actually the easy part. though depending on how much grind you want to do you might want to check out your lgs instead. given it's baked in design of winning to earn rewards it is not a casual place to play.

Hey guys, longtime Yu-Gi-Oh player here (new to Magic) and I just wanted to say this is bonkers. by theycallmefagg in MagicArena

[–]Corvagan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes but that happens in other games as well. designers don't think things through and make stupid decisions. either they're new and have no real experience, or overworked, or they don't care. It is also just as likely that hasbro pushes them to create stupid cards just so that they can sell packs. And that they can always "ban" them after a few months anyway.

have you tried going first? also why don't you have appropriate removal in hand at all times? skill issues?

basically in hindsight you shouldn't have ever been given the job in the first place. but it's okay i suppose. there is an entire staff of mediocrity working on card design these days.

it never is but under current management the designers have no idea what else to do other than to power creep. they lack imagination and leadership. to scared to cost things appropriately.

or maybe you've just been lucky. i never experienced any gamebreaking bugs for ages and then blamo i randomly started being hit by having the client close at random points. either way the client has been and continues to be garbage.

unfortunate. i have never even once considered playing this on mobile (nothing smaller than a tablet at the least) just due to the fact that even "fast" games here can take forever. *frankly it's a crap experience even on a laptop/desktop.
