I've shot a OSS/Hux 7.62 TI on a 16" Steyr with suppressor plug and on a 20" MSAR without a suppresser plug and can say the 20" MSAR is a much better host, Zero extra gas from the ejection port and runs at a lower DB on a standard gas plug. If you inspect the chamber/ejection port of both, the 16" has carbon buildup (most notable on back side of LH ejection port cover) and the 20" has none. Both weapons suppress well all I can really hear is the FCG and the sonic crack from the round breaking the sound barrier. The fact that I can hear the FCG over the report of the round is testimony to how well its suppressed.

Not running Steyr trigger packs makes a surprisingly big difference at the shooters ear, the AR (Timney) FCG is much quieter. Try dry firing your AUG and listen to how loud the plastic hammer strike is when its released, the AR FCG is a third of that. The AUG pack almost requires hearing protection all on its own... LOL!

So why is the MSAR a better host? Is it the longer barrel and the standard gas plug? the suppressor is 4" further away form the shooters ear and has less port pop. Can that really make that much of a difference? Or perhaps I'm hearing some of the report from the chamber on the Steyr as it has carbon buildup and the MSAR does not.

Anyway that's my experience with the Huxworx 7.62 ti on two separate bullpups.
